this issue is new as of today we have been playing a lot together on this all the way up to 2 days ago. there have been no changes to system hardware or OS. nor installed anything in this time we have just been busy with work. but when this weekend came around and we wanted to play the was a like i guess a phone icon on connection for the game and when we try to start it would say cant connect. at this point i thought it was one of our connections (like modem needs a power cycle) so we did normal maintenance on devices we have to see if it resolved the issue this included power cycling all hardware (PC, Router, Modem) and updating firmware. after which it still persisted. did a tracert to the game server and found no issues. did a check with the recommended NATNegTest but that says everything is golden. i reviewed all of the known issues and tested all of them including reinstalling game and features and still to no avail. i dont know what happen since we last played but its now out of reach. 

attached i have screen shots of other info requested for help. as well as pictures of the error we ran into. i have replays of us playing recently if proof is needed that we were playing recently.

oh i forgot to say this but the requested info from %temp% was not in there i looked all over and even searched for exact name as well as partial names but did not see the files there. otherwise i would of posted it. thank you for your understanding

Are you able to connect with any other players?
In the screenshot i see you not connecting with your friend.
Either you, your friend or both are blocking ports to connect.
Try to join a random lobby and see if you can connect.

Once we know who is blocking the connection he or she can try porrt forwarding or using a VPN.
Sometimes the ISP only offers players shared IP and are behind a CG-Nat.
If this is the case we know out of experience that calling your ISP and ask for a static IPv4 solves the issue.

For Port forwarding you can try to open the whole range of UDP port 8088-65535

If you do not know how to access your router or cannot open wide port range you can try the easiest solution which is a VPN!

i seem to not be able to connect  to anyone now. but i can log in. this seems to be a version issue. so i installed it on my sons laptop and tried setting it up but then i ran into a error that i have not seen before saying it had a catastrophic crash and wont open... thats a whole new problem i need to address but thats not for here ill look that one up and try to fix it then ask questions after i do. (it happen after i installed Tacitus) so im not sure how to answer the question of can i connect to others as my friend has not the time to test with me and my sons laptop has not the ability to test with me. so i will be trying out the vpn option. this will take a min because i dont have the time to do it recently. i have not even opened the game since i posted and was trying to fix it then. please bear with me on the time scale, i do see people ask for help and then fall off the map never to be heard from again. i plan to not do that because posting a answer that worked and helped will help someone else down the line. so at this moment i have a solution i will try and several new problems to fix.

i will get back to you about this once i get the time again, this should be this week.

Ah for switching versions all you need to do is ingame press ctrl+T and the Tacitus window will open, goto chronoshift and select a lower version 1.2.

ok found out what happen. this issue is not this program nor the games fault.

the problem is the windows recent update 3878 it destroyed my ssd. this has corrupted every game i have and most of my files. now that i have uninstalled it its less of a issue but this game was just the canary of a much worse situation. ive had to buy completely new ssd's and right now as they come can only browse the internet. backing up my data has been a nightmare as well. if your having similar issues at or around the same time as me do check if you have the update stated before. its a killer.... unless you dont have a ssd then ignore this. 

thank you again for your time and sorry it was for naught as my problem is out of everyones hands. i should of noticed there was something odd when me and my buddy had no issues then i was gone (sick) for 2 days (so nothing changed) and then nothing working after 2 weeks of gameplay.
