Nah, it's worked fairly well so far. It's always fun to see people forget to login and have to reply saying "that was me."

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

Having to register everywhere is so lame. I wont continue that lame tradition here.

Guests can come by and make a post. There specail settings in place to make sure thay can't spam or do damage. If thay like what thay see while there a guest and want more thay can register.

In real life, you don't have to register at the bus station before you can ask a driver which bus you need to catch.

I totally agree with Detail. I get linked to some sites and as soon as I hit reply they want me to log in. I'm not familiar with the site so I bail. Got me to post here for my first time so i understand the logic.

As long as we manage the forum, it shouldn't be too big a problem. It's a bit annoying, but as a last resort there is still the IP ban.

Heh, no IP bans will be used unless it's essentail.
I have a random IP along with anyone else using Freeserve/Wanado/BT. If 1 Freeserve/Wanado/BT IP gets banned it's like everyone getting banned.
My IP was banned from PPM because of Vlad

Some of us do have the curse of a static IP, so an IP ban is a bit more worrying, although not much more. I've gotten a fixed IP so my internet connection is more reliable. I can't really change it if I wanted to...

How about disabling quick reply for guests?

When I forget to login before posting it's because I was using quick reply.

This was a kind of thing that made me stop using IP bans. Deezire had the same problem, I think .

And as Remora pointed out, he's blocked like 5 million people over here. New South Wales (My State/County/Whatever) has a "common" IP string at the start. It's all 20x.xx.19x.xx So basically when he blocks the 20 range, he blocks like the 5 million NSW Residents.. and probably some in Victoria and QLD too..

Oh the Hilarity
