ugghhh..went to the game store today decided I was gonna buy me something that my computer could semi handle( a 450mghz celeron comp...ROTFLOL) so I come across rise of nations. Im like ok...its a required 500mghz, it may lag just a tad but ive seen worse. So I by the game, Im sitting at home look at the box and this is what I see, Rise of Nations THrones & Patriots....Expainsion...Im like so that was 30 dollars down the down the hole.
So, has anyone else experienced this problem with buying a game only realizing its the damn expansion pack and not the original one that the expansion requires? If so, explain your nice little story.

well see the reason this happened is I had no clue what the original box looked like so I just saw the name, looked at the requirements and you know the rest.I can't say that I've ever done that.

I'm almost positive the requirements say requires RoN. I bought both recently, so I didn't have that problem.

The only thing I look at in requirements is the processor so I didnt even notice that. I was just blind. I admit it. But Im glad I got it so when I do get RON I have the expansion already. I just gotta wait till saturday to get RON. tooo long of a wait..lolI'm almost positive the requirements say requires RoN. I bought both recently, so I didn't have that problem.

I've never had it. Doesn't the shop near you have the feature that you can bring back the game in a day if it won't play?

Yes they do ComradeJ. I was gonna take it back but I decided not too. Because Im gonna be getting the original RON when I get my check. So I might as well keep the expansion just because ya know.

Well, y'know what. I can't say I've ever done that. There was one occasion when I bought a game just before xmas and... you can guess what happened, I got the same game again as a present... =/
Luckilly, I took the game I bought back and got my money back
But I've learnt my lesson now, dont buy games in the weeks running upto xmas, wait till after
