Norton Personal Firewall

To start, im not sure if its normal, but the processes number went up from 32 to 41 without and with NPF respectively. Virtual memory consumption was proportional, from 164 MB to 241. As a result, i cant run Dawn Of War with the firewall installed, not even enabled.
Im not in a position to upgrade my RAM now, and my needs for a firewall are scarse, yet i feel like installing one for the sake of it. So, is there any specific soft you recommend, besides this comp eater?

Too cute! | Server Status: If you can read this, it's up |Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

No need for safe mode though Ali
Norton AV 2002, I find is the best (believe it or not). I can give you installers to both 2003 and 2002 (install 2k3 first, as it will give you a 4-year subscription to update, then install 2k2 and go with that. The subscription's still valid, but there is only one or 2 processes (which are very low on memory use) which means more RAM for me! ). Get ZoneAlarm, too. It is free, but it's an excellent little doozy that only opens for programs you yourself authorize. Other than that it's as close to impossible to breach as it's possible to get.
Stupid idiots Norton make their new software too heavy on the system. And you can't even shut them off the hard way (Task Manager/Processes) like you can with 2k2.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Andre 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
