1. No, its not possible to create a shield AFAIK

I cant edit my post, so i'll just post again.
Its actually possible to do 2 via adding a huge amount of health to the object via an OCL, give the OCL a lifetime of the time you want it to last, then when it dies it removes the health upgrade. This still encounters the problem that you still lose health overall. However, if when the OCL dies you give the object another OCL which gives it another health boost which doesnt die then it will not lose damage overall, however it will come back after being "iron curtained" with a full bar of health, not the health it had to start with.
