Announcing Clazzy and Lord Kal's new project...

Red Alert: Total War

This is a mod for a 3d game which is not C&C, nor is it BFME or even DoW. It's none other than Rome: Total War.

This mod will bring the RA1 universe into the advanced Rome: Total War engine. Emphasis will be on the freeform campaign, where you
can fight in Europe as Britain, France, Germany, Ukraine, or Russia. The game will include such features as:

Full control of armies, bases, and the generals and captains that lead them.
Politics, diplomacy and espionage
Epic battles with thousands of allied and russian soldiers and tanks
Build bases in cities and the countryside
Selection of playable preselected battles from the RA storyline.
Multiplayer battle mode
Allied and Soviet units such as Rifle infantry, Mammoth tanks and flamethrowers created in detail
Key characters such as Einstein and Tanya

Whilst the finer details of the game are yet to be worked out, we are confident it can be done and are quite advanced in the planning stages already.

We are also looking for people to help - coders, artists, modellers - anyone who wants to help email me or Clazzy.

I'll do a short FAQ describing the more detailed parts of this mod soon. Watch this space for more information.

Id be very interested to know how you'll change the combat engine to accomodate Tanks and guns since in an advanced age there is hardly any hand to hand combat which Rome:Total War is almost solely about. Wont it require a much larger battle area to accomodate the long range?

Sorry, that was me. If a moderator can come and remove those above posts i'd be most grateful.

And for whoever it was who doubted me:

Wait for the FAQ. It'll show all you skeptics.

I'll say now that you'll be able to engage the enemy up close with bayonets, etc.

Im not skeptical, rather intrigued instead since the Total War series has steered well clear of indirect combat and geared itself more to direct combat, i was interested to know how you were going to make indirect combat more proiminent.

I wouldn't really say it's hard. The long-ranged units are there, they just need to be expanded on.

The news script is currently broken. I'm going to fix it sooner or later.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

Comic 4:
panel 1: MM and Revora mainframe staring at each other intensely; both sweating profusely.
panel 2: MM and Revora Mainframe arm wrestling. Stino walks up confused.
panel 3: Stino asks "How's it going MM?" MM answers "I'll have the news script for you by next week."

Depends if today is later than sooner. Of course nothing posted before now will show, but at least it's back.

That's nice, but you're bringing up a topic that's dead for half a year. So nobody cares.
