As a network leader i just look over things from above. I know everything thats happening and everything thats could happen. However, this leaves me with a huge blind spot -- the ground view.
I may see an overview of everything from above, but i can see the first person view of the network. If theres something under or behind a tree i can't see it.

Thats my attempt at explaining this.

Could people goto:
http://www.cncguild.net/
http://www.cannis.net/
http://www.savagewar.co.uk/
http://www.derelictstudios.net/
http://www.insider-network.net/
http://fropco.com/
http://origin-network.net/
and comment about them. Compair them to Ori. Say what you hate and like. What you think of there layouts, sites, forums, ad's. Where you would put them if thay could fit in your hand. Any comments.

cncguild.net
Would kick off half of their network sites. Remove most of their posters privelages, and generally make the network more proffesional, because it looks like its run by 12 year olds.

Pretty much same for savagewar, although they're a little better

cannis.net
Doing okay, I never visit it because its only RA2 stuff. Was proffessional until that retarded feud with the guild.

Derelict, I couldn't tell you what the ground view is like ;)2

The last two (other than Origin, obviuosly) I've never heard of. They probably should look for better PR.

This whole community should just be higher quality, ala Battlefield 1942 and Desert Combat. The way I see it, Defcon should be about as low quality as available (gfx wise), but instead its one of the better mods out there for Generals (I'm a little biased though, but it's got to be top 10). There are far too many n00b mods, and just way to low proffessionalism. Someday I'd like to release an insanely good mod if I ever get skilled with 3d, just to put C&C modding on the map.

meh. Over and out.

Savagewar looks a lot like ES, some of the stuff and such. I also can't comment on Derelict from the bottom :p
CNC Guild has way too limited a reach, with guests being unable to even view the boards. They also have a tendency to overreact and flame mods without any facts.
Yeah, I've also not heard of the other two. I know most of the major community sites, and I've not heard of those.
I'm personally a big fan of Origin, but I might be slightly biased as well.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

I like cncguild's blue and yellow layout, it kicks ass... but the site is nothing... you can find WAY more content at ppm... which they host. And I think they should have a 30 day must update the site thing like here at ori. Because they host great mods, and terrible sites... the forums for the mods (at least the ones I'm interested in) are loaded with content, however the sites for them are not... I contantly send e-mails to the mod leaders, or post in there forums that they should update the site... cuz often it looks like all of cncguild (except PPM respectively) is dead!

only been to cannis.net once... all I could tell you about them is that they are rivaling me in the top 100...

I've been to desire.net a handful of times, and wasn't impressed. I wondered how it managed to always be in the top 5 of the topsites... but I'll have to take a more through look some time. (oh, but I have used some of there tutorials, and I found they needed some fixen.

Savagewar doesn't seem to have much content, but it has a pretty active community. I haven't had the chance to check out all of there hosted mods, but from the way banshee talks about them, I expect them to be good.

I am active with the Allies Revenge 2 mod, so I spend some time at derelictstudios, and they don't even have a front page :o... but they host blitz II and AR II, in which are very respecable (haven't played blitz, but then again, I don't have Generals) the only forum I visit there is the ar2 one, although they have a very large amount of forums, if I recall correctly.

never heard of insider-network.net, so I don't suppose that have much CNC content. but I'm checking it out in a minute.

never heard of fropco.com either, but I'll check that out after I finish looking at insider-network.net...

Oh and origin-network.net is the greatest, they host numerous mods, and of course my fav site command and conquer central! Long live ORI!

Its too big, network bars should be a little less noticeable.

It's not too bad. If it matched your site layout, it wouldn't be too much of a problem. I still like the small unobtrusive one that you have though.
