Both can be downloaded from that site, near the bottom of the page.

From the3rd.net under tools there is a w3d importer. In the zip file is a readme doc that explains how. That importer in particular will even import animations.

...Is there any difference between gmax and RenX? They both look the same, design and layout wise.

And on gmax, when you're placing your 3 images in the appropriate perspective windows, are the images needing to be proportionally the same prior to importing them or made so after you import them?

Gmax is a program used by modelers of many different games, RenX is and add-on that adds tools you you can specifically model stuff for command & conquer.

Not sure about your other question...

What's the secret to getting the model you're working on to be viewed (in the perspective window) as the actual vehicle and not a collection of colored cylinders/boxes/etc...?

Can you explain that a bit more? Do you want the skin to show up in RenX?

After thinking about it I was probably thinking of 2 entirely different issues.

Does anyone know if there is a text version copy of the manual for gmax or renx available on the net?
