Yo guys, I was rather unimpressed with The Battle for Helms Deep and Minas Tirith in BFME, so in my ultimate wisdom I thought, what the heck, why dont I remake them so that they resemble the movies. I've got the Extended Editions, I've got plenty of footage to work with, I can recreate those battles, no probs. Cut out all the rubbish, get to the nitty gritty of battle. So, i've extracted the maps from maps.big and opened it in Worldbuilder. Opened up the scripts and well, in simple terms, got stuck. I'm a little baffled but what the heck everything is doing. I understand a lot of things, but theres also a lot I dont. So, can you offer any help.

I'll give a basic outline of what I need help with, and what i'm trying to do.

I want to have say about 10 minutes to set up my defences, build some archers, get me some hereos, etc. Then, after 10 minutes or so, Isengard is gonna come at me. Not wave after wave, but one mass get at me, after all, in the book he didnt send wave after wave at me. I also want to do several things, send the mine dude at the wall, send the ladders, and the massive great catapult thingy at certain times. Then, after a bit longer, eomer and gandy are come and save the day (well, they're gonna ride in and hopefully obliterate stuff )

So, i'm guessing I need to put some scripts in Player and i'm guessing some scripts in Isengard. But how do I make a timer, and how do I get things to attack and at a certain time. I've got some waypoints, how do I get things to follow them. And how do I get things to end when one team or the other wins.

Really hope you can help me

I'm terribly sorry - I haven't got BFME yet.

I could attempt to give you some basic mission scripting hints but of course I cannot say if they will still be correct for BFME.

Sorry :(

Unless..

Yes, when I eventually ... get BFME the SDI will be able to provide the standard level of scripting support.
