If you noticed the server was down for a bit this (1-9-2005) evening, it was me tinkering. I replaced the PSU with one with a quieter fan in a more secure mounting. It took a bit longer than planned, but things seem to be working fine now. I don't plan to take the server down again for a while, so this was just a periodic maintainence thing.

I was sleeping, but this was just a slightly improved thing. The old PSU had the fan held in place with tape. I decided that was a little dangerous, and replaced it with one with the fan properly cut to fit and screwed in. Besides, it wasn't an hour of downtime.

wow that sounds safe, i suppose if the server caught fire then we would have longer downtime.
