It's my god given right to be an Atheist!!
I say that I believe in myself. I have proof that I exist. My actions effect my life, and offerings to myself keeps me alive.
I believe in myself, I am my own God.
agreed

Belief in one god without denying the existence of others.
Pantheism:
1. doctrine identifying the Deity with the universe and its phenomena.
2. Belief in and worship of all gods
Googletheism:
Belief in the existence of an allmighty search engine.

[MoD]Cha0s C0ntr0L, This is in the smart persons forum, you're expected to be able to translate yourself
mastermind2004, It's as you say.
Atheism: The denial of the existence of God(s).
"God does not exist"
Non-theism: The dis-belief of the existence of God(s).
"I do not belive in God"
Then that places me to be a Atheist, I dont believe there is a god.
Nontheist is like, 'There is a god, but I dont believe in him...'

Sort of agnostic and athetist. I don't believe there's a god in the traditional sense. There may have been a superior race of beings that our primitave people would have worshipped as gods, which would explain many, many things. But that's a whole other debate.
That is so stolen from the Alien vrs. Predator video plot xD

Shh! Don't tell them that!

No, I can't say that I have. I came to my conclusions completely from my own. Of course it's not exactly an original hypothesis. There are many things from the Bible, old paintings, ancient writings, etc, that point it at as a very logical solution. Of course our ancestors would view anyone so far advanced as a space-faring race as Gods. Hell, if one of us went back to biblical times right now with the advances we have, we'd be a god, too. But anyway, it's a work in progress. I feel that we will know the answer in or by 2012. The Mayan calander has been proven to be accurate for up to two million years, but it just stops at 2012. Whether that marks the beginning of an enlightenment that transendes space and time, or the beginning of the war predicted in the Bible, (Which could possibily be between two other races fighting for control of the planet with us caught in the middle... hot damn, that does sound like AvP..) we shall see.

It's just a very accurate calender that the Mayans divised using mathmatics and the position of the stars, if I remember right. Like I said, scientists have discovered that using their calculations, the calender would have been almost perfectly accurate for at least 2 millions years into the future. But the one they made just..stops at 2012.

Here, that's a much better explanation.

If you believed in God, worshipped Him every Sunday, prayed to him every NIGHT, attended whatever religious ceremonies you liked and spent your entire life according to the rules of your religion, would you not think it had been a complete and total waste of time if you got to the end of your life and there was nothing there?
Atheist and Nontheist are the same thing then.
Atheist: There is no god.
Nontheist: I don't believe in god.
Same thing. Saying there is a god is believing in god.
A more truer representation would be:
Atheist: There is no god.
Nontheist: There is a god, but I don't worship him.
But wouldn't that be the same as an agnostic?

Atheist and Nontheist may be very close, but would you rather have 2 close options which people can pick from or have 1 option which people feel does not suit them?
