Like quarrelsome lovers, these three nations fight like bandits until you try to step between them. I'm so confused by the relationship that I can no longer tell who likes who and who doesn't.

Let's start with aid. We obviously love Israel.
US aid to Israel 1
US aid to Israel 2

That's alot of bananas. With that kinda aid you would think we could pressure them to do what we want. Though that does not appear to be the case. The state department says "well Israel is Israel and we can't make them do anything"

Quite the complacent point of view I must notice...

Than there is aid to Egypt
US aid to Egypt

We not only give them aid, they're one of our best customers!
Egypt military purchases

Now this doesn't sit very well with Israel despite thier good relations. Though officially not noted. We can smell the animousity.
Israel lobbies to cut Egypt aid

And well there some support in the US to do the same. Though shot down hard, it still exists.
US attempt to cut Egypt aid 1
US attempt to cut Egypt aid 2

This really isn't any surprise as the Egyptian state run media just overflows with anti-US sentiment. How is it a country can continue to recieve such aid yet semi-publicly tear down the US?
Anti-American Egyptian press

It's no wonder that republicans and democrats alike are beginning to rethink the US/Egyptian relations even though it's for different reasons.
Rethinking US relations

Despite it all Egypt is running a marathon of hope for taking Israeli/Egyption relations to a new level!
Egypt to increase relations with Israel

The irony of the threesome is almost unbearable. Does Egypt play a double hand? Does Israel play a double hand? Is the US playing a triple hand?

I can only imagine all three ambassadors hitting the nightlife in Ciaro during Ramadan after celebrating Shabat at the finest US hotel in the city. ;)

We all know Israel and the US have that wonderful love hate relationship. They spy on us at the Pentagon (source), we buy them M1A1s. I'm not sure why they constantly antagonize the US, considering they almost constantly find a new way to piss off Washington or tempt them with a song and dance, but the rate at which this is happening...
In my opinion, Ariel Sharon is a criminal. In the 1980s, he let a Christian militia through his own blockade (source) to slaughter thousands at two refugee camps. He had orders to not let anyone through. I met a Marine who was with the MEU that were the first on sight, I knew him for quite a while, and he was the one that let me know of this. This cannot be allowed to continue. Israel cannot be allowed to commit crimes against the Palestinians. I know they're being attacked by terrorists. I know that, and I know that it's not going to stop, but instead of breaking out the AH1s to take out suspected terrorist leaders and about 30 civilians at the same time, ACT like a worthy ally of the United States.

I agree with you in the bold part. And I can say more: he doesn't want the palestinian state. His plans to withdraw Gaza were just a way to distract the rest of the world from the so called "peace map"....

I often wonder just how many Israelis, in general, believe in a Palestinian state. If there was a general consensus to such in the country the government would be forced to make consessions.

I don't believe either side is going about things in the proper way. The Palestinian terrorists are just making it more difficult to get their own state, as Israel wants to maintain its own security. I don't know how those two can ever coexist.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

I say we let them have a go at each other, after all no one can say the west has'nt tried to end the war. I mean what are they after some bit of crappy dusty sandy land that is 'holy' to them both? This is one of the perfect examples of religion being a bad thing in the world. We let them blow and air strike each other and do something better, like Israel proberly will take out Irans nuclear targets as soon as they view them as a threat. Im sick of the whole middle east peace we should concentrate on Africa and sort out all the problems then by the time the fallout has subsided from Israel we rebuild there.

My wife said when she lived in Israel that most people are secular oddly enuff. But the zealots run things. I don't believe it's so much about "holy" as where can I farm and go to work and where can i not.

There are more Palestinians living in Jordan than the West Bank and Gaza combined, and they actually get along with Israel.

Do the Egyptians (or other arab nations) really care about the Palestinians in truth or just rattling sabres?

The whole problem is the religion in politics on both sides. Israel was created to be the jewish country... and the palestinians also mix politics with religion... so, it'll never work... until they understand that religion and politics have nothing to do with each other... shouldn't be mixed...

Most if not all the aid the US pays to Egypt is due to the peace treaty Egypt had with Israel/US after the 73 war. So why does the US has to pay in the first place?
Because most of the equipment used by the Israeli army was top of the notch US equipment (tanks, planes, weapons) at that time, of course the US-Isreal relations are still very firm, and haven't changed since then.

So Israel actually wants peace?
I don't believe so, first of all, it wasn't their land. Second of all, they wouldn't have demanded a peace treaty if they weren't raped at war. Because several UN orders were issued once the attack in 1967 occured for Israel to leave, which as usual, were ignored.
In return Egypt did not further attack Israel at the time, nor it does "forever" same goes for Israel.

If you don't already know, the 73 war has taken place in Sainai, liberating it from the Israeli occupation that occured in 1967

Well it seems we are going another round here. Egypt hosts a new conference with a new Pal leader and progress is made. Proof is in the pudding though. We shall see how this turns out. Stay tuned. ;)

I just want to start getting people used to this style of writing in the mean time.
