Too cute! | Server Status: If you can read this, it's up |Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

compared to Linux... Yes i have used Linux...It's way more powerful...
Love Vida Linux which is a varient of Gentoo Linux...
Optimized to my P4 desktop.... Takes a while to boot tho since im not
a Linux Guru and i haven't optimized the Kernel yet.... Anyway even
heavey Gnome takes less resources... then XP boots with only 80 megs
of ram used (total) and IceWM takes only 38 megs... FluxBox i think
takes even less probaly 20 megs... XFce which I use takes 100 megs
probaly cuz i have lots of eye candy on....
MSNM protocal is pretty good except transfer.... max of 2.5 kb/s
sucks....in that area up time is great usally....
Off to fix XFce.... updating messed up
somewhere... shoud have manaully updated as usally. Might try Fluxbox
with Rox file explorer.....
M$ do not make Linux nor did they influence it.... so the GUI sucks... so i switched to Blackbox for Windows...need to find the right skin...takes 7 megs to run and 25 to run default...
No commentWe're on CentOS, which is a free distro of the Red Hat 3 ES core

Of Course is stable just not optimized... O and i found out if you have a certain package off Portage(Gentoo's package manager and compiler) you can run evil RPM's....If possible you should buiild up and save for another server comp... put Gentoo on it or have some at least get base running and everything... then emerge(compile/install)..CPanel, php and whatever other packages you want..If you must you can use a lousy RPM to install Cpanel but would be nice to have whatever you find that you need optimized and compiled from source. Esp if you used server sources and hardended them....server would be a lot faster then this one...It's very stable, updated pretty regularly, and is a good core. Red Hat is used by most servers.
