I have made a model recently and it is big one (I think - about 16000 polys  )
My problem is that I do not need (nor want) to texture it. I like it as it is
using only basic colors from g-max (RenX).
However whenever I export model into W3D it looks like it is with gray fog
(I´m sure you know it). How can I remove it ??? :p

BTW it is kind of urgent (project for schoo ;) l).

Sorry for bad English. :p

hold the fone... when you export it to W3D? You're going to put a 16k poly model into Generals?

ok

If you're not using a texture, it would just export as the basic mesh colour. This shows up more misty in appearance in W3D due to lighting (I think), so the only way round it is either to put up with it, or give it a texture. Even if the texture file is just a basic colour.

I am not going to use this model in Generals.
The fact is that Gmax (RenX) is the only model program I know how to use.
Thats my problem.
hmm... And if I use plasma export will it solve my problem ?
And is there any plasma viewer ? And what is this plasma.
Normaly I would show my model in Gmax itself but I do not want
other people to change it so I want to export it into anything with
external viewer without texture.

BTW I have already tried to texture it with basic colors but the
model is just too complex. It will take too much time to texture it
even in basic color. Any suggestions ? :p

well, in that case W3D would be the best one to use.

All I can suggest is practice. UVW mapping can be a real bore sometimes, the more complex models can be a nightmare so I avoid it wherever possible.

If you want a piece of a model to have a diff color without a skin do this:

Select the piece you want give a color and give it a new texture (just press M and give it a new material)
Then in the Tabs go to the main tab.
There you will see 4 colors

2 white boxes
2 Black

Change the 2 colors in to the color you want it to have.
Then in W3D it will have that color.
