I was looking out the window at work and i saw a woman say "You TWAT!" to a mans face. I got lots of time to think while i'm standing in-front of the photocopier at work. My thoughts went a bit like this:

You twat!
You virgina!
You {incorrect fact}!
You apple, car, pencil!

It's not the words that offend, it's the intent to harm.

This is also an explination of Revora's bad word and flames policy.

Well why do religion choose certain words to say they offend. To me it's always been the emotion behind the words that was the sin.

What's the diff? You Cunt! or you Poopy Sandwhich! Same emotion portraited. You (bad feeling you).

Call it a twisted view of religion, but I think the intent was not to have bad feelings for another human being. Love them, for who they are.

That's the point with everything. If something is good, you say it's 'cool'. It's not necessarily cold in any way, it's just a way of saying it's good. And the same can be applied when something is bad.

I call my brother a bike-tire-repairer. That's not really an offense, but he takes it like that ^__^

I say a lot of words that are not nice to people , but I say
them on a kind of joky way. Then they laugh.

"You dick!" is an expression I use on my brother. Then he goes
whining to mum, after he does that I beat him... Then more
whine, but he doesnt go to mum again. :p

There's nothing wrong with the words themselves. Any so called racial slur or 'naughty' word is just that, a word. The words themselves are harmless but the meaning all depends on the context of the situation and the intent behind their usage to determine their true meaning.

I believe there are no bad words and that most people can't understand that 'fuck' is merely a word. There is nothing wrong with the word 'fuck.' Society put a negative meaning to it and there ya go, bad word. Well, fuck those (see what I mean about context) morons; they shouldn't be allowed to make these types of descisions.

Basically the deal with langauge and what's taboo is nothing more than a simple form of mind control. If you can control the language people use, that's how you can control thought. Religion is in the same game with mind control. Instead of suggesting what you shouldn't say, they suggest what you SHOULD say. You should say this before bed or say this during dinner or say this on the first Monday of the new moon at four o clock when the bells ring...

Do you see what I'm saying?

Most words arnt that offensive, like if someone called you a dick head then you would call them back and it would go on and on. But if someone called you about a disablilty or problem you have then yes its very offensive.

For me words like dick head dont mean much just that someone doesnt like you, words like fucking cunt is a strong swear word/phrase but still not as offensive as being called because of a disability/problem.

The phrase "Sticks and stone will break my bones but words will never hurt me." is true yet false, words will mentally hurt you.

How odd. We certainly used to have a filter for swear words, which changed them to other (slightly odd) things. Highly amusing when it happened :)
