this will be my second to last post

the last one will be the one with him skinned/map whatever
put him on your desktop and he will look badass

i once made an animation of him as a zombie and it was badass as hell. 3dsmax has this auto key that makes animation realy easy

Good, now start animating

Your skills are great, your first character in 3dsmax is exelent.
If you learn C++ and get a free FPS engine, you are on a good
way to the game development world.

Knowlegde has no weight, so start learning...

http://www.gamedev.n...nce/start_here/

http://www.gamedev.net/reference/

http://www.gamasutra.com/

these 3 links should be of some help :)

Pacman sounds simple enough for your first game, something i believe you can make yourself without the need of a large team, but later i suggest you first join an already existing project to get experience in organisation and how game making actually goes with bigger teams i don't mean game proffessionals, but hobby projects, alot of them can be found at this address: http://happypenguin.org/

When you'll want to make a 3d game i suggest you use one of the already made 3d engines for your game, my recomendations are either Ogre3d which is open source and written in C/C+ (as i remember) http://www.ogre3d.org/ or Artificial Engine, it's not open source but it's free to use it if your game is not of a commercial nature and it's written in .NET http://3dlevel.com/ both are very capable.

you can find more engines at this address http://www.ambrosine.com/resource.html

And as for your modeling skills, do oh do make the green dude a single mesh, it will look better and more professional since this is how people are made by professionals, read this tutorial if you need to http://poopinmymouth...ter_process.htm

Good luck becoming a succesfull indie:) Don't know what an indie is? http://www.dexterity...s/indie-faq.htm

A tip I can give you for character modeling is to model the palms outward it saves distortion in the mesh when animating and looks tons better.

Take this from a game studio: find a team. You won't be able to do much on your own, and you don't even have an engine yet. Maybe you should start working on modding or something before you come out and say "How Do I Make A Game?".

wait a minute. that was a quote from a game studio. ah my bad... but still i find it pitiful that some people wont help some others simply because they think they are more worthy than that other person (the begging one). for whatever reasons i will never know

I'd say that people get tired of the same old help posts they hear, when there are so many tutorials on the internet and the allmighty google. But then it's not really a community anymore if noone helps eachother :p

@chaos: I posted links to homepages of 2 quite capable 3d engines and a link to a site with a long list of 2d/3d engines he can use :)
