I'm shopping for an mp3 player... a hard drive one to be precise in the region of 40gb... and I DON't want an Ipod as there seems to be as many of them as people in my 6th form....

anyways...

I've picked out my 3 faves here:

first up: the SONY, my personal fave atm, looks nice and has a rather cool interface:
http://www.ebuyer.co...oduct_uid=76264
£235, 40gb, colour screen... cool interface

next, the CREATIVE
http://www.pixmania....b.html?srcid=3#
£189, 60gb, not colour screen... a bit chunky and not quite as sexy as, say, the iriver or sony :p... not sure about the interface...

next, the iRiver
http://www.7dayshop....id=99753&r=PRUN
£256, 40gb, colour screen... nice looking cover effect

what do you lot think??? or do you have any other cool things to reccomend??

cheers all thee all :p

I just ordered a 5 gig Zen Micro from Creative. I think it looks nice, and do you really need that big of a player? I'll get mine on Friday hopefully.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

I love the Zen micro's.. .they look so damn cool :p

a few of my friends have them and Ive played around with them a bit, I really do like them... but I want something with a big capacity.

Yeah... I want a really big one.. .at least 20 gig I suppose so I can have the songs at a good quality... plus I have loads of CD's :p

also.. with bigger storage as my collection gets bigger and bigger I can still fit it all on

Or you could just keep your big collection on your PC and transfer a 5 gig batch to your player. It's not like it's that hard to move things around.

Who needs a nice display? As long as it plays music I'm happy. I'd go with #2.

its more the interface deterring me from the zen... if it had the same swanky interface as the micro it'd be my main choice :p

Yeah... I'm really tempted by the Sony, you can see the cover of the album you're listening too aswell, which is really cool :p.. .but the iRiver is also really really really tempting :p

I'm suprised no one's mentioned the iPod here. I'm really quite happy with this 6gb iPod mini, works beautifully, and looks it too.

could be because of the following quote from the first post in this topic:

nd I DON't want an Ipod as there seems to be as many of them as people in my 6th form....

I've just ordered the Sony Vaio.. it looks so damn good and the 20 hr battery life is a really big winner in my mind. The interface (grey square thing) looks cool, and you can se the covers of the albums you're listening to on the screen

Over all I think it's the best of the three, it's also not too pricy

let's see how long it takes E-Buyer to get it to me... supposed to arive on 14th April... fingers crossed :p

well.. it's arrived bang on time.. no delivery problems... feels very solid and very well made...

certainly lives up to Sony's brilliant reputation for very good quality products.

I've not had time to fiddle with it yet as I had to go to bloody 6th form...

but I'll be home soon to fiddle to my hearts content :)

I really like the grid interface thing :)
