best tactic around be airgen build every entrance to your base 5 patriots then wait till your lvl 3.
build some designators behind them and you can leave
around an hour later come back and your lvl 5 build around 20 B2's and bomb the hell out of them :grin:

That takes too long... and it doesnt work when GLA bombard you with cockraches

You need commanches + rocket infantry if you are going to survive with the Airforce General.

Thats not at all the only way, stealths and raptors in force can do a whole whole lot of damage and both stealthed means high survival rate. Use the Raptors on tanks, and the stealths on infantry and buildings. If the enemy can't be broken right away you can still defend plenty well enough to make lvl5. Also, if the enemy tries any air atack just use the intercepots gaurding air about one gaurd radius around your base on every side. does stealth detect also, very handy.

2 Hercules can go around capturing every point on the map, or garisoning all the buildings in a city. Free infantry, use them often.

It just goes to show there are many ways to play any General.

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

they do, but lvl 3 isn't all that hard to get. If its to hard to get to lvl 3 for you iether try changing up your play style, or DL my patch. I've got it just about working perfect. theres a couple small bugs in the AI with one or two Generals, but I've already fixxed those and will be releaseing a better script file in a couple days.

designator is cool. its not effective against single units but in when attacking a group it can decimate the attacking party. i have seen to designator take out 3 overlord. that is how good they are. Besides the designators biggest role is to take care of artillery and it does that job pretty well.

There is an othere tactic for designator.You can have them disabled and when the target gets in range and STOP to atack your patriots or eny base defence THEN you enable the designator and the target trys to find what did hit him ;)

my favorite trick when playing my version...

put a heavy ECM plane on gaurd orders above each designetor... very scary stuff...

in pure contra .03 I used Stealth's to skermish the middle of the map and defend my base until I hit lvl3... only then would i send anything to another base, maybe stelths and raptors, or aruara's if I had them.
