I am making a type of movie not necesarilly a movie because there will be no actions mostly words and clips and people but i need the words to run down the screen like it does in the end of star wars and all the crap but i dont know what program to use to make it do that. Any Ideas?

Well, there's windows movie maker. While it's fairly crappy, it might work. If you don't already have it, you should be able to get it from the microsoft site.

You can use VideoMach, just ask me, I do everything...

if you have a mac,
imovie idvd or final cut express (we use them @ college)
and to be honest im not sure on what programs you can use on a windows
you talking about a film film (actors, video cam etc) or a Animated film thing

Tell me, what kind of animation?

3D: 3dsMax, enter frames and select bones and move them, "tad da"...
Cartoon: Flash MX, draw and move the figure for each frame
Clay: Use webcam and take pic by pic then import them into VideoMach
