How to make the edges of HI's transparnet?

Which programme are you useing for your images.?

You need to create an alpha channel, but psp doesn't handle them too well.

I use a program called GimpShop which has all the same functions as Photoshop but is free :p It can create alpha channels.

Start a new image, go to Layer\Transparency\Create Alpha channel
The dark fire shall not avail you, Flame of Udûn!

Thanks but thats not what I meant. That's for models and skins, I want the heros icon to have transparent edges.

I think if you make the picture small enough the game will make the edges transparent on its own.

Flame of Udun: you've to make Alpha layers (in Photoshop/paint shop pro). Black in the alpha layer will be transparent, white is solid.

Just to add to this - if you feather the selection and create the layer, you get the nice fade out of the portrait - it works great! Thanks for the info on this one!
