You'd rather we left our sick and wounded to their fates?

I can think of a grand number of people (myself included) who'd disagree with that...

Other creatures take a different approach. They simply produce more offspring.
Back in the middle ages up until around 50-60 years ago, the average family size was 7-8 kids. People knew that their young were unlikely to survive and so they simply had more to compensate. THere's a better chance of one surviving if you have 7 or 8 than if you only have one.

Nowadays, as medical care advances, parents only tend to have one. In fact, we have developed numerous means to PREVENT ourselves giving birth. That is how confident we have become in our self-preservation.

Who said I was? I just kind of dislike the idea that I think what we're doing to the world is right. Natural or not it's wrong.

Oh, by the way, try telling hamsters that killing their young is wrong. Or lions that killing the young of another pride is wrong.

Ok, ok...well, um, there are always gonna be some cracks in the armour...a few doozies in the genepool. Of course, the end result is those people are expunged from the genepool one way or another.

More like ancient Sparta. They'd take disabled or sick children and dump them outside the city gates to die.

Hitler was psychotic, deranged and prejudiced. There's a difference between that and eliminating weak links in the gene pool (sparta), or eliminating your own bloodline (committed by people who are just psychotic and deranged, ie, murderers)
