Minas Morgul Ideas/Mod

I've been thinking about how there aren't any awesome Minas Morgul maps/bases out yet, and had a few ideas that I thought I would run by you guys.

-would it be possible to use a Gondor base as a template for Minas Morgul...and replace the build slots with Mordor build slots, also if you copied, pasted, and renamed the data for the Gondor walls (.ini and .dds) could you then recolor the gondor wall .dds files to look more like Minas Morgul walls with the glow?

-as for the parts of the wall that stick out...there are several Citrith Ungol wall pieces that might work with a little effort.

-regarding the Minas Morgul glow... the FX for Morgul Blade is close to the right color, and with a little work I think I can make it a long lasting morgul green glow... so could the FX size be changed to make it larger? Maybe even large enough to surround one wall segment? And could it be attached to that wall segment?

I tried something like this a while ago, but at the time I didn't know enough about what I was doing. However I was thinking of trying it again, and would appreciate any ideas. (EDIT: by "thinking of trying it again" I mean I have already started :blink: )

EDIT: for the FX I think I could use an Atribute Modifier (Maybe a Leadership bonus that doesn't give anything except an FX) to attach the FX to the wall.

Ok, I have been following AdmiralGT's "Adding a new faction Tutorial, pt 3" and am at the creating a base part, and I have a question:

If I want to use the Gondor regular wall but give it a new skin...How do I do it? I didn't see anything in the goodfactionbuildings.ini that would let me easily change the skin on the walls so I assume that I have to do that in Gmax/Renx. I was able to find the skin I wanted to change (gbccenter.w3d = the gondor citadel that I made a new skin for) but I dont know how to save/export the renamed skin :huh:

I would really be glad for any advice or help you could give me...

you need to save it as a DDS file for the game and a TGA file for RenX

you don't HAVE to save it as a dds file for the game. tga will also work. :huh:

Quick question regarding Heroes:

I found this line of text in Aragorn.ini:

MaxSimultaneousOfType = 1

Does this mean I can give him to Gondor and Rohan as a buildable Hero, but once one of them builds him the other can't?

Yeah, and just think about how many of those exist in the 3rd age or in just about any age of middle-earth, and i am not even talking about the likelihood of dino hanging around minas morgul. :p

Woah...are you velociraptor from mevault?? I'm pretty sure you've requested that mod like 5 times already :p That mod would take a heck of a long time to make :p

:lol: haha yeah u got me but atleasts do the non dino units, :umad: though i still think the raptors and supersaurus are good ideas, :thumbsupsmiley: i mean supersaur is hige, 133 ft long, 50 ft tall, and wighing in at 50 tonnes, nuch stronger than a mumakil
