computer specs is one of the reason I play ra2 and not generals. not even a 1800 mhz 256ddr 128mb graphic card and 40 g hardrive can play it with out killer lag (not to mention with a mod X_X)

btw I'm even more impressed that you can do dog fighting mig. I am sorry though that school is taking away all my time though. :(

Why? As I've explained above, it isn't "true" dogfighting, and the basics are already playable in the unmodded version of RA2 and YR...

Because the planes don't dance around each other in an engagement; they just sit there in the air firing at each other. So whilst, yes, planes are attacking each other and are controllable (like the RA2 Rocketeers), they are not really "dogfighting".

as long as they can stop incoming bombers, i'm happy..., but then again, why would you build them, if you have AA...

Cos fighters are better then AA... they can also attack ground targets & are pretty much the fastest units in the game.

And with Fighters you can stop the AI from destroying buildings at the edge of your base. AA may shoot the bombers down, but most of the time after they hit their target.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Andre 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

alright, you convinced me. one more question: what will be the AA kill-ratio? one shot - one kill wouldn't be that realistic.

It varies from gun to gun & there is a certain degree of randomness dew to the inaccuracy of flack weapons too. I’ve seen one Flak37 take out a P-47 in one hit & other times I’ve seen half a dozen of them blast away & miss completely...

will fighters be able to land or are they just going to hover like rocketeers ?

They land when not flying, you can fix them with your ARV's then...

I'll be posting a lot of plane pics soon(ish) & maybe some pics of the new desert terrain I've been working on
