I hope I'm not revealing any top secret info here:
Real War Mod is a full-featured game mod for Command And Conquer Generals Zero Hour which stakes on total realism and cinematic beauty of the war actions. Please let me divide our mod into several general parts.
1) General features include a new playable side - Russian Federation (Russia), removed Generals sides. Now you cannot play any of the generals' factions or the GLA faction. Faction list now includes only the USA, China and the RF.
2) New gameplay features include tons of new upgrades, units and special abilities. The gameplay has been very seriously remade towards realism of war actions. Now tanks explode when they are hit by 2 rounds, infantry are no match for tanks unless they are using antitank grenades or antitank missiles. Jets are able to develop great speed during their attacks on ground units.
Infantry are able to plant antipersonnel/antitank mines, tanks can fire smoke grenade launcher, and artillery does have 3 types of munitions.
As for new units, we have created about 40 new ones. We also plan to create 30 or more new units.
3) New graphics is now able to amaze even an experienced gamer. New explosions, tracers and smoke do create an impression of a real gun fired, real missile launched or real rocket exploded. New graphics pack also include about 50 new ground textures, about 80 new qualitative 3d models with textures, and reskinned old factions' models.
4) New AI is more resistable to the player, because it now uses all new abilities and upgrades, build new units and behaves very intelligently. As for me, I often lose skirmish match (my APM equals 200).
5) I didn't not ever mention some more features that affect gameplay. Thay are: fog (not fog of war) which appears to reduce units' vision radius, difference between types of maps which takes great part in the gameplay, over 50 new maps and even more!
