I'm back again.....

I want to know how to add new units. Where do I place the new units / buildings? In the instructions for the Adv Dozer it says to place them in the file INI/Object/FactionUnit.ini.
But my FactionUnit.ini contains:

; FILE: FactionUnit.ini ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////
; This file is now OBSOLETE
; This means do not put anything in here.  There are other files that are better homes for your entry.

 So where should I place my new units and buildings?

Problem, when I try to add anything, even say adding Jarmen Kell to an American barracks, the button appears but doesn't do anything (it's grayed out). What do I need to do to make a building accept the new .ini file? because mine doesnt seem to be reading them properly. Also, what no. does module tags go up to?

Yes I have, I know it's getting Generals to read the "new" files that is the problem. The new files are all in Data/INI/Objects/ - but Data/INI files works fine.....

teh americainfatry(or whatever teh file with ur unit is) has to be in Data/INI/Objects
and everythin else in Data/INI

 I solved it.... The problem was a mis-named folder :p

The folder is Data/INI/Object, not Data/INI/Objects.

Thanks to anyone who helped, and also to Leonhart, who solved the next problem.

Thanks

New problem..

Adding a new .w3d to a model. I've got a model and skin from Renegade Tools (v_gdi_hcraft) but when I try to add this to a new unit which I've created the unit isn't there, but still fires and dies etc. I know I've got the folder's names right this time ;) but I don't now how to solve this one.

Also, where do you add a .gmax file?

--Razer

Note: I now have 17 new buildings and units, 3 new teams which function fine - par the airport and helicopter pad of course.

I'll just add another question to the above which is actually unrelated but is pretty simple. Where are the normal GLA buildings kept in INIZH? I can't seem to find the folder.

FactionBuilding.ini

As for gmax, search for how to export to W3D
