Yes they did I should know I was one of those that had nothing to do one night and unlocked the code, but others did it when GTA:SA came out the first day it just tooks others awhile to figure out the nets best tool. Google .

But anyways, I know this is offtopic but it does sort of deal with banning of games. The people in my city are starting to bitch about the extreme violence in games just hit the store like this one game 25 to Life, most cops here are offended my the major cop killing happens in the game and many others(GTA series, The Getaway, and many others). People are also are pissed off by how young teens or younger kids are obtaining these games and so called learning how to hate the police. One of the Police officers here quoted,"These games that are being sold to the public are influencing the people to dislike the law and hating the police that enfforce it, I believe the ones who create these influencing tools should spend life in prison". Since this is becoming more major the Govorner of State of my state are trying to get a bill passed that closes down any stores or arrest people that sell these crimnal tools(extreme violent games). Sorry if it sounded like I was saying it but that is what I got out of my local Newpaper .

I think this is BS, because if they remove those certain games then they have to remove certain movies as well and everything else that is "Violent Tools". I wish people were not so idoitic and look at themselfs because we are born violent there is nothing we can do about it. But what do you Guys and Gals think.

Meh. It's just more people who don't understand the concept of free expression. If I want to make a violent game, it's perfectly legal to do so. What people do afterwards is none of my concern. Besides, if anyone takes that much influence from any media such as games or movies, he has a problem already. Also, it's not my fault younger kids are getting them these days. We lack something called parents with the grapes to tell their fuckin' kids NO.

Parents are the source of the problems concerning media like games, movies, television and music. The parents don't step in and say no when they know they should. Parents need to establish a sense of right and wrong in today's generation so the kids can distinguish between fantasy and reality to avoid issues such as these. Parents these days just use video games and television as babysitters without being vividly aware of the adverse side effects that they're causing until it's too late, in which case, they blame Vice City and San Andreas for their own shortcomings.

When I was that young, my parents wouldn't let me near it. Now I have tons of the stuff since they know I understand what's going on and what is and is not acceptable in daily life.

In short, the parents should do some goddamn parenting for a change and get these kids on the right track in life.

Nah, doubtfully. The fire smolders indefinitely. Special interest groups hellbent on their own agenda add to issues concerning the media. If dried up housewives would get a goddamn life instead of sitting at home finding things to bitch endlessly about, we'd have fewer censorship issues with which to contend.

I'm tired of censorship and the restrictions it sets in place and it seems to be getting worse with every new generation of stuckup yuppie cocksuckers. If you do anything they don't like, they crusade against it... and it's almost always for the children. I'm all for keeping certain materials away from young children but DO NOT keep it out of my hands. The goal of these people is not to keep it away from children but to outlaw it entirely, which has never worked at any point in history. Case in point: the Prohibition Period in the 1920s and 1930s... you see how well that worked.

Besides, if you keep children away from all 'indecent' material, they'll grow up with a false sense of reality which is much more harmful than a fart joke or a violent game. The parents need to step in and teach they're children the difference between right and wrong, when certain things are appropriate, etc.

It depends where you try to buy the game I guess. For instance, since the rather unfortunate incident with manhunt being blamed for the murder of a kid who'd been playing it, which I still don't understand, it's now very difficult to go buy games with an age rating. As in, I go into GAME and try to buy Time Splitters: Future perfect. I have to hand over my NUS card, my Scottish Fencing membership and my student card to prove I was over 15. As opposed to I can go into a shop with "we don't sell glue to under 16s" written in big letters on the wall and just buy the stuff, no questions asked. I can buy stuff with age ratings anywhere else so its not like I even look under 15 for goodness sake!

But yeah, a license sounds like a good idea. Sort out all the problems.

No the victim played manhunt, the killer never did... and there is a difference between hot coffee mod and adding new skins for nudity, since with new skins the modder adds new content to the game, by the hot coffee mod the guy just enabled an option.
