Odd behaviours

A few things I've noticed that seem odd.

The War Factory build queue seems to handle orders for Nexus Terror Drones incorrectly:
  • If I queue 2 TDs and nothing else, I only get 1 TD. Same if I queue 2TDs and then other robots.
  • If I queue other things and then TDs I get no TD
I know TDs are small and my eyesight's lousy, but I've tried queuing 2 TDs then something else, waiting for the something else to appear then type-selecting (T) a TD - and only 1 TD is selected.

Nexus Eradicators & Executioners fire over walls - I've seen them destroy walled buildings without destroying the walls first. This looks illogical since:
  • Eradicators & Executioners have "beam" weapons,i.e. they fire in a straight line rather than a ballistic curve,.
  • These units are not tall. (Siege Crawlers have "beam" weapons but fire over walls because they are very tall units).
Is this a bug, or is it a side-effect of a balancing tweak?

1st) Is a problem with build time, i'll add some more to it so previous unit manages exit before unit build counter is finished, its game issue if counter finishes before previous unit has exited it won't appear at all.

2nd) Well, its a game issue sorta as if the beam is stopped by wall its still drawn to the target behind the wall just like thru it or so i have heard? but on other hand I overlooked this when copying vehicle weapons...

anyway these small issues will be amended.

The TD problem looks like a side-effect of one of the most annoying features of RA2, that you hear "unit ready" about 15 seconds before a War Factory unit will accept orders - this was not a problem in the original RA.

The oddity about infantry "beam" weapons firing over walls looks like the SOS from Westwood - interesting ideas but flawed implementation. I remember having original RA and Warcraft II at the same time - Warcraft II was more stable and less resource-hungry, while RA had frame-lag problems in single-user mode!

Yes, so true so true...there are issues in there that are left ignored by game developers originally...
after all, they ignored it all so much that the games have been so unbalanced and abusable in most cases. :D

Alternate fix to TD problem: Build more than one WF... I always build about 4 to maximise build time, and with all units I end up with most of the WF's spewing units :rolleyes:

At any rate, the others are tiny niggles, but shouldn't be hard to sort. Executioners use a railgun, so chances are it could punch through the wall anyway, or simply damage both wall and target.
