Nexus v Nexus - Terror Drones

If you're playing Nexus v Nexus and one of your vehicles is attacked by a Terror Drone, is there any way to get rid of the TD without destroying your vehicle? Other factions have Regenerators and Service Depots which can exorcise TDs, Nexus does not.

Nexus has Repair Drones afaik.

Yes he does, either that or stick the vehicle in the machine cloning factory thingy (can't remember the name), to get some money back. Sort of works like a grinder as far as i know.

Yes Repair Drones indeed, however there has been talk of making this an issue (as in disadvantage) for Nexus like it is for Yuri that he can just dispose of the infected units making nexus vs nexus a bit more pesky than straight forward.

or a weapon that separates the drone and infected tank

If Nexus didn't immediatly capture all the robots when he began to strike against humanity, then it is possible he had to deal with some Terror Drones. Givin so, he would have anti-terror drone technology. Now what that would be, I don't know.

Also: on a semi-related note, is the Emergency Repair supposed to 100% repail/heal something, or only a certain percentage?

100%, thus it has the 5 min recharge, however units away from center of effect may not get 100% health.

Which is, IMO, a cool effect :ninja:

I personally reckon that the Repair Drone be ditched. The self-heal somewhat counteracts the Terror Drone's damage, and even if it does not, let's not forget that the Terror Drone's alternate ability (the landmine) is easily defeated by NEXUS units (who all have Sensor ability). They need to have SOME effectiveness, otherwise it's a bit pointless :rolleyes:

So I say leave it like it is ;)

o_O Sure they are worthless? I have lost infected units before. Besides, having to rebuild a Centurian Seige Walker in the midst of battle is quite irritating.

Also: I didn't know Nexus could detect Terror Mines o_O. Do they auto-detect Stealthed units or something? Perhaps make the Repair Drones Terror Removal Drones (??) and make Terror Mines undetectable? Just throwing out suggestions.

well, heres the deal, all nexus hover units have sensors so they can detect and combat subs and the mines use same logic to hide themselves so I can't just disable mine detection without ruining his combat subs ability and then he'd need a naval which isn't his style.

Oi. I guess they didn't plan on a robotic team :cool: such as Nexus. I mean, against Yuri, you'd think, hey, some better ROBOTS would be good against PSYCHIC MASTER, but hey, whatever :blink:.

Anyway, I think that is the whole point of the Terror Drone...to actually destroy units, rather than just being a minor irritation to their owners because all that happens is they get removed by the repair bot. Just destroy em before they hit your Cent. Annihilators work great for that. :blink: Repair Drones really aren't needed.

Good point. I just sometimes like the style of using Centurian Walkers with maybe powerful Hover Units as backup if I am able to win like that. Nothing like towering machines barrelling through a base with lasers blarring all over the place :dry:. Guess I'll have to be more cautious is all.
