Rather than Only War 2 being plonked in the normal modifications section, now Legacy of War is hosted here too is there going to be an 'Empire at War Modifications' sections (like the BFME and CNC ones?).

Heh.. tell me one thing mates, why do you already start a mod when you've got nothing to stand on? No coding, no anything.. oO

But I'm pretty sure there will be an EaW Mod section.. :)

I presume there will be, personally I want to set up at least forums (and a site if possible) for modding of Petroglyph games (ie tutorials, questions) like we have for T3A so there's a section for EaW here rather than these small forums.

We will wait until we get at least 3 or 4 mods for a start.

Because it's possible to create the assets such as models and textures sorted before the game comes out, and to get it properly planned. I thought that was fucking obvious tbh but oh well.

Perhaps it is fucking obvious. Hope you didn't mind having to spend a few seconds to tell me. :)

I think it's better to wait until some kind of editing file be leaked. It could be a beta ini or anything that shows the modders how the game will be moded. Then, we'll be able to do something on this direction.

So far people doesn't know anything about how this game will be moded. What kind of models file? W3D is copyrighted for EA, not Petro, so they'll have their own file, I think. How the ini stuff will work out? We need the basics first...

Not every game uses INIs. We've had information about the moddability of EaW and it's positive. Apparantly.

As for the w3d thing... that's why other exporters for other formats exist :p

But I suppose it's better to wait until the game is released before making an actual section.

Rumor has it they will be using XML for settings files. As for exporters and such, I've not heard anything about that. I might just have to play around with EaW, just because I've grown to love XML.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

Then you'll really love MasterNews 3. All the config files for it are XML.

You can't, cause the <gun> tag doesn't have any style associated with it. :)
