Ok so you're wondering why, well I have a good reason, weather will be changed in the game, to now affect units for a specific side.

Falling Snow affects the speed, accuracy, and sight of the GLA, China, and Militia.
Blowing Sand affects the speed, accuracy, and sight of the USA, China, and Militia.
Fog (yes a new weather system added to PR) affects the speed, accuracy, and sight of the USA, GLA, and Militia.
Urban Areas affects the sight of the USA, China, and GLA, but increases the accuracy of the Militia.

The Laser General isn't affected by accuracy since he's the about well you get the point.

EDIT: Only two will be added to 7.0 due to time constraints, those will be the Desert and Snow ones.

Yeah.

However, I thought it would be best to announce here. I'm giving up PR until 7.0 comes out. (or until I get Mod Toaster working...) I haven't played any other mods (except Contra) and I'd like to try a few. If 7.0 is getting delayed for a week or two, it works out perfectly. :)

EDIT- I just thought of something. Vanguard, could you tell me if it is possible to make the installer so you choose the directory that PR is installed to? I've found a way around the 'one mod without mod toaster' rule... :p

Off topic:;;

Crave22: What's your opinion of Contra? I just downloaded it and have played 6 or 7 skirmish games.... Kinda fun.

It is fun, but the only thing I don't like (although he might have changed it) is how advanced buildings require a promotion. I don't like being rushed into battle like that.

One question Vanguard, will the falling snow and blowing sands like severely impact the affected units? Or will it just mess around with them a bit?
Keep up the great work Vanguard!

Welcome, Nightstalker! What do you mean by the update file? When a new version of PR is installed, it is one file, no patch. You have to uninstall the previous version, then install the new one. :)

The initial test version of PR 7.0 was about 134MB. I still haven't got the newer test version yet, but now with the addition of weather features, and some additional toys, that number is sure to climb.

PR can be downloaded here when the time comes:

Well it may be released Saturday with the two weather FX, but the maps wont have the blowing sand or anything, most snow maps wont even have falling snow, those will come in the patches a long with the other weather FX, and remember 8.0 wont have a release date until it's done.

How will patches work on mod toaster? Will the maps with weather effects still be playable on other mods or regular Generals?

Not without removing the new units and weapons, but then you also have to use our maps.

Ive played a map with a dozer bay on it and it worked fine on normal generals except the dozer bay wasn't there on regular generals and came back on PR. Will that work for these maps too?
