modding Rangers help please

hi, I'm trying to mod the rangers so they can toggle weapons like the Elven warriors. I've changed a lot of the stuff however so far no ability to toggle weapons or upgrade their swords is available. Can anyone give me help with this?

I've managed to do most of it now, however one more thing I need to do.

I've been able to give the Rangers a toggle weapon button but becuase they technically aren't supposed to wield swords so they continually use a bow. Is there a way to apply Faramir's sword/bow swapping ability to the rangers? And how would I do this?

Well they have no idle sword animations so it can be a wee bit troubling.. however when I did it (one of the first things I did) I essentially copied the appropriate models anims and sounds into the elven warrior code... then created new weapons as there wasn't actually a seperate elven warrior weapon speced so they used ranger sounds (or was it vice versa..)

so if I copied Faramir's animations into the Rangers one TECHNICALLY it could work you reckon? Coz I was gonna use the Elves but they draw swords from their backs which bothered me (padantic I know) while as Faramir draws from his sheathe.

and as an added note can somone give me a quick summary on the process, coz i'm not sure where the animation for units bit is.

For animations, you could try to use the Rangers' banner, who uses his sword.

That uses banner carrier animations...
No, using the current animations (put an attack anim playing once for idle) or applying the Ranger skin to Faramir's model like Deezire did...

I've pasted in Faramir's stuff for the Rangers, they'll change formation and say "draw your sword" or whatever however they still won't actually draw swords lol. Anyone help me with this?

did you make a new weaponset for the toggle ?

man i'm so lost with this i'm gonna have to start modding the Rangers again. Can someone talk me through how to do it? i'm really new at modding so I'll explain what I'd like to do step by step.

1. alter the rangers so they toggle weapons

2. (if possible) keep Rangers skin yet have Faramirs animations. (for example: his toggle weapons animations, moving animations, etc)

3. be able to upgrade their swords and bows with the relative upgrades. (not armour though)

I hope someone can help me with this.

bah I've added Faramir's anims and boy is this annoying it says that on the same line "End" is on. Stupid thing lol please help

The line numbers are messed up, you'll only get angry trying to use the line number to figure out your problem, use Ctrl + F to find =: and see if there is something missing under AnimationSound

nightmare! I just checked over it and my comp had missed a crucial number from the frames! lol. ok. Now I presume I need to go into commandset and change the Ranger so they can have toggle weapon?
