no i didn't :)

but the point still stands... a vessel is a much larger investment than a single soldier, more so than 18 even...

btw..

"it would be uber strong and the necrons would just warp inside of it and kill everything...

that would suck..."

necrons teleport into everything and kill everything. killing everything is just what they do :)

I like this new concept of the space station: a real battle station for planet defence...that also manage ships construction !

well, the stations don't do the building exactly, the building is done somewhere else that is none of the players buisness.

I also said "manage" not "builds" ship...

Btw i hope to see big stations...that's all!

So stations are not going to be cheap right? I hope so, so that it will add more strategic depth to the game. Will there be space battles in which there are no stations (big and powerful ones)?

yes and yes.

When i play them galactic conquest things in eaw I build a station on every single planet to the highest level possible, to me that seems a bit silly... especially considering that tiny little tartan thing costs like twice as much as the hulge hulking stations (level 1).

So, we're gonna make stations really expensive so that you only put them where it matters, and they're gonna be very fooking dangerous.

for example, the ramilles star fort (the marine station at top level) is approximately equivalent to four battleships in firepower and health. You'll need a very big fleet to destroy a top level ramilles :)

I'm thinking that the initial charge for a station will be rather large, and the upgrades are relatively cheaper.

This really sounds good to me...it's logical...

yep

it also means attacking guarded planets will be... perilous, especially if they belong to the marines :)

Ahh good, I've wanted to actualy have space battles but EAW its a attack/defense. In cost, how much will fleets be compared to stations?

i'll prolly base it on the tt point costs to start with...

for example.. a Cobra escort costs 30 points, a lunar cruiser costs 180 points, a retribution battleship: 365 points, a space marine battlebarge: 425 points and a ramilles star fort... 875 points...

That cost is for the full level station however... though i think the price will be about the equivalent of 600 points to start with, the second and third levels 75 points each and the final upgrade bringing it to full strength.
