What are you talking about? Unless Gman teleported it with you to <location of aftermath beginning> its toast. mmm toast... It was meant to be an open ending, look at Half Life 1. You have no clue what happened the first time you play it. I didn't get Half Life 2 the first time through even after HL1. Then I replayed it and looked at tidbits of information and little things that you can miss and I was like "Duh!" Just play it though a few times. You'll get the ending. Trust me.

And if you watch carefully, you can see the g-man throughout the game.
