either the game's speed was at 20, or that thing is really slow firing. seems like it would be faster firing...

It has a slow reload rate, but the shells travel really fast.

Did you slow down the game speed? Cuz those shells weren't moving very fast.

Also, is the USA getting a railgun turret? Or at least a few more railguns?

I can only get FRAPS to record at 15 FPS, and gen runs at 30 FPS, but trust me, if they could lead their target they would hit an Aurora on an attack run. And no the US wont be getting more railgun stuff.

There was a Gauss rifle and pistol in a game Fallout 2. The gauss rifle was german desing and used magnetic field to propel the ammunition with huge speeds trough almost any obscale.

Yup

Rail Gun: Two electrified rails create a magnetic field to push the bullet. The bullet is magnetized by the electricity running through it between the rails.

Gauss rifle: A series of magnets which activate in front of the bullet and shut off/reverse polarity when the bullet reaches them, so it essentially pulls it out.
