I don't think he realises that there even is such a thing as warhammer!!!

let me explain. Games Workshop manufacture a range of games called Warhammer, of which a "sister game" is Warhammer 40 000 based in the 41st millenium.

Now, they have had several games based on their stuff i nthe past, such as Firewarrior, and Dawn Of War is the latest.

Dawn of war is BASED on warhammer 40 000's model ranges. Hence where the necrons have come from, they're a race of models that were not in Dawn Of War, but in games workshops table top game!

Oh but I do know about the Workshop's tabletop game called Warhammer, it's just that the mod team said that they wouldn't make a true remake DoW due to copyright issues. They expressed no concern for the fact the the entire Warhammer universe (on which this mod is obviously based) is property of Workshop, but since they don't make pc games themselves, this mod hardly poses a threat to them.
But I am not at all well versed in the Warhammer universe, though I'd like to play a pc game of it
Dawn of War seems good enough, but since these guys are making a Warhammer mod for EaW (which I plan to get anyway) this seems more...convenient.

it's not a remake of DOW that we're trying to make...

it never was a remake of DOW we were trying to make...

This mod has always been totally independant and not at all anything to do with DOW.. we were.. like.. making Only War before DOW.. (well, we being.. not me.. but others, I joined like april last year )

also, GW does sorta make games... Games Workshop Interactive (GWI) is a sub-company of Games Workshop I thinks that does make, or at least have something to do with the making of, games...

Basically, we're making a mod based on the Warhammer 40k universe, which DoW is also based on. Jesus, it seems surreal that we're having to explain this but oh well.

yes their will be more factions but for the moment just IG SM and Necrons

Now that would be cool

Imagin you and your best budd controling a faction and doing both land and space combat
Like necron and IG for example

YES, I have played it and galactic counquest is the only fun way to play EaW

but I guess multiplayer galactic conquest is almost impossible

I don't think boomer quite understood the concept of 'multi-player' and galactic conquest together, you can play 1v1 at the moment, but yeah, 2v2 or 3v3 would be good, if a little erm, odd

Oh I actually thought you already could play 'Galactic Conquest' on multiplayer... my bad..

You can play some campaign maps 1v1, but it's hardly the same

As sam said 2v2 or maybe even 3v3 would be way cooler

And IF this will be a possibilety in OW2, it would be cool if, for example IG/N could battle other IG/N players. like in Gothic. (one of them being a traitor legion)

And btw You actually can play Galactic Conquest on Multiplayer, I've done it over LAN, it rocks.

um but maybe you mean more than 2 players in a GC game..
