OnlyWar has come very far and I dont think i am the only one who can say this.

So lets have a chat about what it was like when OnlyWar was a wee one.

I remeber the old site that was hosted at PlanetCnC. I also rember a tiny bit of the old forum to. I rember posting "What programs do you use to make you models". lol
And boomer replyed "we use Paint to make the 3d models and we use notepad it skin them and ...(etcetera, etcetera)" ah the good old times.

That's not that far back really in the grand scheme of things, being on gamingforums with pyro's shitty first models was the good ol' days

I remember those, I can still remember a few of the staff who have been and gone, intelli, omnisight, dj rowly, leighman, tom (war2099), mcragge, pyro, hobbes, p4p3rcl1p, there are more besides too!

See I also remember the days when everything was clean and shiney, brightly coloured and a bit pants at represnting the 40k universe! I also remember the origionaly necrons!

Anyone remember the spinning buildings in the Alpha! Whoah was that odd

wow, how far does onlywar go back? how long ago did the most small peace of work on onlywar start. Can we see a pic of that 1st model?

Started in like April 2003. Ages ago tbh. Don't have a clue where the old stuff is, Only War is part of Generals 40k (mine formed in april 2003) and Boomer's Only War mod (formed in the summerish of 2003). They had a..... tricky merger before becoming what we are today.

I bet that Duke_Qa still has some old stuff on his disc..
OW dates back a long time, way before i decided to offer my services. The original core team was much bigger back in those days..

How the hell did you get a bug like spinning building?

Im not entirely sure, but bits of buildings used to rotate that shouldn't have done, in some cases the entire building span on a rather odd axis.

On my old pc before I formatted the hdd I had some of the uber d00ber origional stuff lying around, like the origionaly guard skin

The spinning buildings happened because there was like still code in the buildings code that had animations for the old, normal generals buildings, and it caused them to spin. Was quality . Almost as quality as 2 dreadnoughts chasing down an ENTIRE infantry army of guard. Classic.

almost as 'hilarious' as one of boomers guardsmen butchering about 15 crisis' in a game we played because the crisis suits couldn't inflict damage
