Mine is much simpler.

Evanescence
Edenbridge
Within Temptation
Nightwish
Linkin Park
Avril Lavigne (every now and then, something nice and easy works)
Greenday (a little bit)
Hoobastank
Red Hot Chili Peppers

If you were to classify these, they'd range from Alternative Rock to regular Rock.

I can't stand hardcore (I don't mind the odd song of dance or trance, but only if they're the dreamy kind...it doesn't blow my bollocks off though), hip-hop, rap or anything like that.

I don't listen to a great many bands. And I couldn't listen to a lot of the stuff in the same genre as the bands I do listen to.

There is some older stuff I like too, such as Queen and a bit of Pink Floyd, but I don't listen too much to them.

Evanescence
Nightwish
Within Temptation
Lacuna Coil
Kidneythieves
Kittie
Marilyn Manson
Apocalyptica
System of a Down
Laibach
Placebo
Linkin Park
Limp Bizkit
Vader

So rock, gothic rock, gothic metal, metal, nu-metal, industrial, heavy metal, alternative and um... okay, techno :p

I'm a big fan of both Trance and Happy Hardcore, but listen to most other (regular) Hardcore and other forms of Dance/Club as well. There's an odd Rock song in my list, but my list probably has the lowest percentage of Rock of anyone here... it seems that's almost all you people ever listen to. :p
I hate R&B and Hiphop unconditionally, unless there are funny lyrics in it (not likely!).

Call me a man of all tastes, I can listen to and appreciate just about anything (exept maybe shannon nole and a few others I haven't yet heard), however the ones I'm listening to most atm are:

The offspring
GreenDay
Nickleback
and the lord of the rings soundtrack (good for when your reading)

Also have a lesser interest in:
linken park
evenesence
and (heavon forbid) britney spears if the mood takes me. (such as when I need something to put me in a stuper, very good for reading books well meaning freinds force on you)

To name Genres: Alt Rock, alt Pop (only alternative), Industrial, Psychedelic rock, old school rock.. modern rock, etc :p

Now to name some bands:

Nine Inch Nails (quite obvious )
The Cure
Pink Floyd
Linkin Park (dont listen to it verry muich anymore though)
Tool
A Prefect Circle
David Bowie
Depeche Mode
Nirvana
GnR
In Extremo (Omnia Sol Temperat is really fun ^^)
KoRn
The Who
James Blunt (dunno how he got in this list )
Muse
Radiohead
Soulwax (belgian duo that make electronic rock)
The Prodigy
K's Choice (Not an Addict is great)
Franz Ferdinant
The Beatles
Golden Earring
Rage Against the Machine

I have an Vinyl player since a few weeks now, so Im also listening to some old LPs from time to time.

Also Id like to state my personal grudge against Green Day and all thos other idiotic punk rock groups. And as for Greenday fans: "American Idiot is not a rock album, it is pop, and in my personal opinion it should never be seen as a great album, rather as a commercial attept to gain a lot of brainless fans from the pop culture. Green Day is the worst band of the last 15 years." I thereby rest my case

some thing i saw that was odd was how many people like Marilyn Manson... i know there was only a few but I'm shocked that there was that many. Marilyn Manson is a fucking pussy how can anyone listen to him whinging about some thing he cant change of fix, i use like him back in the day before he became a sell out mtv prick! Do you guys that like Marilyn Manson have his golden age of grotess. if so have you seen that video that came with it? let me ask you what was the point of that crap? he called it "ART"? that's not art how can he say that!?

probably the reason why Trent Reznor started hating his former protégé/ Manson became an ego tripper.

Happy to agree with you on that. Personally, I've always hated Green Day, they've just continued to give me more and more reasons as time goes on.

I've never really liked Manson either, and I do like NIN, but you've gotta admit, Trent is more than a little bit of an "ego tripper" himself.
