Been felling really tired the past week (didn’t get up until 3pm today), probably just stressed with all the things going on in my life atm. I had to cancel the trip to the London too, I was looking forward to seeing Blaat & Xeno but I couldn’t really face it.

I haven’t done any modding for a few weeks now but (not been in the mood for it) but shear boredom drove me to finally finish the P-1000 Ratte today. It’s not as big as I would have liked but it is bigger then the warfac it comes out of so meh...

In anime news: I got Evangelion vol.6 yesterday, there are some very disturbing scenes in this one where Asuka has a mental brake down & sinks into depression. But that’s why I love Eva so much, no where else can you find such a deep & emotional story.

You know it upsets me that too many ppl over look Eva just because it's classed as a "giant robot" anime. It's so much more, it makes the works of Philip K. Dick & Arthur C. Clark seam like kiddy bedtime stores! oh well...

they were showing the evangellion tv series here in Belgium at one point, it was completely at the wrong time of the day for me to watch it though (4 pm-ish).
by the sounds of it it isn't something you'd show kids after school either

probably has to do with the fact that TV programmers are trying to repeat the winning formula of the 1980s when french tv started showing anime like dragonball, city hunter, sailormoon, ranma 1/2, among others. good shows (maybe not sailormoon though). they assume that anime=cartoon, cartoon=kids I imagine.

I won't comment on whatever problems you are having, I don't know what they are, just hope things get better soon

oh and btw, BIGGER THAN A WARFACTORY ?!!

Evangelion is defiantly not for kids, it deals with some very complex psychological themes that most adults can’t even handle. I’m very surprised that it was shown, AFAIK it was only ever shown on TV in Japan late in the evening.

anime started appearing here with french children shows like club dorothée among others in the 80s. Since then they have been passing dozens of different shows translated into french on a good many channels. european and american made cartoons are very much a minority in france and belgium. like I say, the guys in charge must be thinking they are cartoons like any other so they don't really think about what they are putting on the air.
they showed cow boy bebop not long ago, there really is a good variety... of course the quality varies depending on the channel.
on kiddy oriented channels there is a bit of censorship when things get too bloody and nudy , which sucks but oh well

Here in the UK there is much stricter regulation as to what can be shown. Blue Sub No.6 is probably the most "mature" anime I’ve seen on UK TV, it still had a lot of stuff cut out tho. Tenchi Muyo was shown on TV for a while too but that was heavily cut IIRC. Dragon Ball seams to be the main anime here, it's shown pretty much ever day *sigh*

well its not like they show sex and murder every 2 seconds, but I guess it is a bit more liberal than in the UK and US.
a lot of the stuff is of the hamtaro / pokemon variety. But there some cooler stuff like detective Connan, gundam seed, ghost in the shell, big O,GTO, Yu Yu Akusho...

I saw an episode of the american version of dragonball Z btw, one of my favourites from when I was a kid. I'm horrified at how it was butchered

Anime has a large fan base in the US with teenagers but the top brass at the TV channels are mostly god fearing conservatives that don’t like anime at all.

DVD publishers in the US on the other hand are very open to anime, in fact they sell more anime then any other country out side of Japan.

we dont get anime much here but i was suprised to see a growing increase in manga and anime being sold in normal stores now, such as we got HMV, Silverscreen and music zone selling Anime Dvds and WH smith selling mangas Such as The battle royal series ( very explicit manga series )

however it still does come at a price, so il be happy to buy more online, as my Cowboy bepop Dvd ruled and OMG I LOVE THAT SERIES lol

P.s im in love with faye valentine

I'm bored with Bebop now days, just seams a bit bland compared to some of the other stuff I’ve got. I still listen to the sound tracks all the time tho, I’m a big Yoko Kanno fan
