My WW2 Tiger

Hi! i have been worcking on a German Tiger tank which needs completion and i am aiming for around about, 1500 Polys atm it's 968 ploys so i am well under budget i hope you like it =)

Firstly, find some blueprints of the Tiger, and get them in Max/Gmax (whichever you're using).

Secondly, you're absolutely wasting polies. I think the sphere for the gun on the front uses up a lot. The rest doesn't look as if it costs more than a 100 polygons.
If you're aiming for 1500, the tracks can be done by modeling the wheels individually with 6 or 8 sides.

ok but just to tell you i have a model of a tiger infront of me so i am eyeballing it to make it as acurrate as posible and second i will do that but i am dooing a high poly and low poly versions both in the 5k poly marck

Don't rely on eyeballing it.
Eyeballing and accuracy really doesn't go together.

While I had a model on my desk for reference, and loads of photos, I still put a set of blueprints into Max to make mine with.

k kila i have finished it anyway and i am using blueprints of the german panzerkampfwagen VII "Maus" (Mouse) and i think it is gone be around 10-20k polys so i will be on theis 1 for a while

Edit: i have started and this is what it looks like (The blueprint isnt there because it would ruin the image) Posted Image
i will keep updating i have the turret taking shape now i hope it is done soon

Not to discourage you, but I don't think it's very smart to make such highpoly objects if you're relatively new to modeling. You'd better start off by making models up to 500 polies or something, nice and easy.

k but i have been modeling small treains for ms Tarin sim like the mallard and its 6000 polys so i know what i am dooing and also i think kilakanz might want to try a Maus tank i have blueprints i could e-mail the to him anyway i am dooing it no matter what

Not to discourage you (Thanks for making it easy for me hostile), but so many people have done Tigers. Do a Pzkpfw II, III or IV, or something, but not a Tiger...

k but i am dooing a pzkpfw VII the Maus i have done its basic shape now

Finaly i have its basc shape and textureing complete so it might be good enough for some people to bone but i cant i dont have the right tools but just pm and will send the file to you here is what it looks like [ it weight 2508 polys so it is prety good for a super heavy tank =)

and also if ppl wana texture it thier own colours just ask so it is a kinda like freware thing just tht i made so if you do bane or re-texture give credit to me for building it :p

that is the high detail verion i dont wana do low detail unles some 1 can re-texture and it is my 3rd tank i have built and 1st tank i have guilt from blueprints so i might put more detail up but i would like luke if he can to bone it to blitz 3 or sumit like tht but just feel fre to say good stuff about it and remember Construcive critisim is still welcomed. and also i need some 1 to tell me how to render in gmax :lol:

Sorry.. i wouldn't even call that a texture..
what program do you use for texturing?
Try some basic texturing tutorials: see here, here and here and there

you can't render in gmax.
Export it to w3d (using renx) and view it in w3dviewer. That will do the trick.

blitz3 is no anymore... :lol:

Idont really like that.... this model dont looks like using that many polys !

yep... i dont that it takes too much polys !
and you can add much more detail to it, if you're as experienced as you say :)

It is too-high polyed to get into a C&C game.... Remove the tracks, and put a boxed track, then make the cannon not a cylinder, then remove all the non sense polys, make the model at about 700 polys and then ok
