replace Scorpion with a main battle tank.


Hmm :p let's talk about tanks. I don't know how old does your scorpion replacement will be. But I think Russians T-55 to T-72 might be appropriate (I am just allow you to pick one, not all okay? :dry: ). But, if you want to keep it original I suggest you might replace Scorpion with European or Middle East or African making tanks.

PS. Very sorry to Creator and Creative user and other Russian and Indian users for posting Russian and Indian stuff :D

Hey,Pend I've more suggestion on aircraft. Maybe you might put Iran/Indian making aircraft.

I'm RESURECTING this dead topic because its very soon about to become much more important again.

There were lots of good suggestions the first time the Remix3 GLA was braught up, but I think the discusion got completely hung up on the jets and individual tanks... Instead of focusing on one type of tank, or wanting a certain model in game lets talk about play style and needed unit TYPES (not specific units)... For exsample: Assault GLA needs a multi-role fighter and an interceptor type. Demo GLA needs replacements for the Terrorist-Rocket units, how about a simple bomber, a suicide plane, and a basic interceptor.

Other good points that belong here is whole concepts for units. Such as, "every interceptor uses missiles... it would be interesting to have a quad cannon style plane", or "how about a base defense that spawns sneak attacks near the target and spawns terrorists" Not just new units, but new ideas are needed. If we stick to REAL units then GLA will be just like any other army. to be original you have to break away from REAL once in a while. One of the best IDEAS to come out was bombing with terrorists... I don't think it will make it in game, but I love how different the idea is from saying GLA should have a 50s style heavy bomber. Both do the same thing in game, but only one is original.





The super Short Version of everything Prior to now on the Remix3 GLA Topic to include the SHORT version of my design ideas:

ALL GLA: Many more defense options. Stronger defenses overall. Ofcourse techtree and super weapon changes to miror the tech tree changes for USA and China. I would also like ot include more artillerry options for all GLA.

Assault: Non-Stealth Non-tricks& Traps Uses conventional weapons, has a variety of tanks and artillery. Has alot in common with the play balance of Vanilla China with a GLA look. will include more/newer aircraft.

Chem: Will change little, is already a good, well rounded general. If anything Chem will just be more rounded out to include AirCraft and main battle tanks. I have a dream of Chem Attack Zeplins... ohh yess.... :shiftee: In many ways Chem GLA will expand in the same ways as Flame china, more units capable of attacking the units Chem is weakest against while keeping the style of play.

Demo: Already an excelent general, but needs a larger variety of CONVENTIONAL weapons. not every Demo unit has to be a suicide unit. He can have mortars, cannons, mine layers etc... I have plans for a new super devistating superweapon.

Stealth: Will be given many extra powers... many buildings will be able to spawn ambushes or other specials. Stronger powers available earlier (sneak attack at lvl3). Many ground units will be removed and replaced with a larger variety of stealthed fast attack units suited for hit and run. (This is gonna hurt some feelings) the stealth tank is going to get Nerfed alot... its way over powered and requires no "stealthy" play... just because the unit is stealthed doesn't mean it needs some creativity to use, and for that reason I think it goes AGAINST the stealth general mentality of tricking and suprising your enemy. The stealth tank is not an amush god... its a base rush god, this should be fixed. On a whole I think stealth should have more tricks and less brute... basicly pushing stealth gen even farther down the path he is already on.

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

I'd really like to see a rocket artillery defence for GLA a la Katyusha rack on a fixed base/ neblewerfer type thing.

Assalt GLA needs some heavier/more modern vehicles such as a T-72 type tank and maybe a decent APC. (BMP1 with 73,mm lo vel cannon)

Defence for Demo: Similar model to stinger site with 81mm mortars, and more bunker type defences for infantry.

I've never really seen a version of GLA that I was really happy playing. Be nice to see somthing along the lines that have been described.

cool.. thats the exact kind of input I'm looking for. much more helpful than showing pics of jets and tanks.

Also, while I'm thinking about it, I think Asasult general should include several Towed units... like a variety of relocateable base defenses.

Great towed unit for Assault general: the ubiquitous D-30 122mm Howitzer. Almost EVERY 3rd world army has a few of these things floating around:

Either of these might make a neat multipurpose (Anti air/anti infantry) defence, and could be towable.

Should be moderatly effective vs Helis, and light vehicles, leathal vs infantry, and not so hot vs tanks/jets.

why don't give the stealth general an motar site tho?
maby an trench shoud be some sort of bunker..

A MILAN or AT-14 KORNET site would make a good stealth defensive site, as effective ATGM tactics often depend on ambush tactics.

The ZPU-4 mentioned above would also make a good Stealth gen. defensive site. These things gave the American absolute fits in Vietnam. Used to mangle Hueys when they tried to land troops near one.

Stealth Gen tank should be more like a SPG... I think that a Stealth Gen tank should be stealthed when still, but should be slower than a three toed sloth, maybe with a fixed forward firing gun to make it vulnerable to flanking... but then, when engaging, should hit like the hammer of god. (A good defensive modern tank is the Merkeva.)

this idea was posted long time ago when you were preparing for remix 2...and you didnt liked it.....



now im gonna give some ideas, give to asault general or demo general, a big artillery truck like the chineese nuke cannon, that will fire at long distances (not all the map) huge explosive shells, and later with an update you could fill it with radioactive wastes.....

another idea is that you can give demo general a tank that in the top has a catapault style tower that throws a barrel of explosives... i saw it several years before in EMPEROR BATTLE FOR DUNE ;)
and if you liked it then also a stationary turret that has trhat tower

im gonna also post some ideas for other generals in the suggestion topic

The FH-77B by Bofors would make a good wheeled artillery, or the South African G-6, which is one of the longest ranged 155mm howitzers in the world.

A Heavy MG nest, or light autocannon nest would be good. The model and code could mebbe be based on the stinger site.

Direct fire cannons aren't really used much anymore in fixed defenses, so for assault/demo gen, some sort of tank bunker might be cool.

I foregt which mod it was, but someone had a garrisonable emplacment that had a parked bradley with a couple of infantry slots. The bradly was basically for show, and used it's autocannon. Idea is good, and could be used for just about any vehicle.

well i'm tired so i wont post idea's yet but the chem general he's gonna be like the gla version of flame?
and the chem airships i liek teh sound off the only debate i can think of is this, They are airships witch mean they move pretty slow making them very easy targets for AA. How will u get round this?

I think that one should be chem. gen. unit instead (the inkvine catapult in EBFD throws barrel of corrosive chemical that would ignite when touch by fire).

For me, Chemical General is hardest to come up with stuff for....

Maybe a spy/infiltrator type unit that can place demo type bombs with nerve gas/anthrax beta bombs.
I don't know if it's feasible, but some sort of powerful nerve agent that has a chance of backfiring would be cool.
I like the upgraded toxin tractor that's in the game, and the chem infantry can be really nasty when used properly. I think that the chemical general should meaybe have some sort of base defence that fires acid rockets against tanks. I think that Chem. should be really weak against aircraft.

This missile system exists in the mod already. And Chemical general have it already.

Upon revisiting Remix today, creator, indeed it is. As I said, I don't play GLA all that much.

Assault Gen does indeed need some more aircraft. The Hind D and Fulcrum would make a cool edition.

I kinda like the super tank thing... Very neat. Reminds me of a more modern version of some of the multi turreted russian tanks from early WW2.

Scorpion and Marauder have to go. Words cannot describe how mutch I loathe those two vehicles. If you want to put ina light vehicle AMX-10RC would make a good subsitute. Or any of the 105mm Cannon armed wheeled AFVs

I'm still having a hard time with the Chemical gen. defensive idea... Mebbe a variant of the Katyusha turret with Acid rockets. Or a ATGM site/turret with acid rockets/nerve gas rockets.

Chem general should have a polution defence. A build which constantly filled an area outside the base with poisons and later acids.
