The Battle for Middle-Earth 2: Visions.
Visualizing Middle-Earth; the Right way.

The purpose of this mod is to change the look of the game, and make it fit more into the way Tolkien and WETA envisioned it.

Points of interest:

Dwarves

- Faction name changed to Erebor
- Unit reskins to represent WETA better.
- Model changes to make Tolkien dwarves, no Warhammer ones.
- Men of Dale reskin, King Brand of Dale.
- Archery Range reskin, possibly a new model.
- Remove Axethrowers, add Dwarven archers.

Goblins

- Faction name changed to Gundabad
- Reskins of B4ME1 Goblins to maintain skin quality.
- Drogoth either removed or renamed to a proper name.
- Gorkil removed
- A real Goblin leader added.

All this is our main priority, expect more when the full game is released.

Staff

Matias: Head Skinner, emergency modeller, Mod Leader
Tomat: Head Modeller, Skinner, Mod Leader
Mullers: Head Coder, Pupil Skinner
Nightmare: Allround Modder
Bebbe: Modeller, Backup Skinner

Needed: -

Current Projects:

Dwarven Forge, Gimli, Dain Ironfoot, Archery Range, Azog

twas predictible that Tolkien's fans wouldn't let EA get away with this :)

I like Gloin, although I'm not sure I'm a fan of the blue cloth, maybe an armor would be more fitted

Hmm..

I like it alot, although it might a bit too bright.. how about I add some chainmail or scalemail into the red cloth spots underneath the blue?

Also, welcome to the team Mullers!

May I just suggest you just change Gloin's yellow armour into grayscale instead. Because the armour looks good itself, not the colour. I don't quite like your blue armour, since I can't see why he would wear it at all. It really marks out a target on the battlefield. Take away the blue. Please.

He wears it because it is traditional Dwarven armor. Gimli wore it at the coronation of Aragorn.

Just think, is blue really a colour dwarves would use? Especially if it's this bright? No. You simplyfied his tunic and recoloured it. Not nice.

Tolkien stated that dwarves wore scale mail, why take it away?

Look here man, I did not recolour anything! I did that from scratch and it took me quite a while. You are getting insulting, please refrain from doing so. It's traditional armor according to WETA and we base stuff off WETA designs and Tolkien scriptures. Don't judge my work and say its just a recolour.

Sorry then. It's just... Forget it, I can't tell you, it will sound like an insult.

*sigh*

I can take critics since they help me improve, but just labelling my work as a recolour or something is just not cool. I will add scalemail underneath the blue stuff.

EDIT: The final Gloin, and some ideas added to the first post.

EDIT EDIT: The reskin of the Heavy Armored Guardian. Completely done by Tomat.

Hey erm Matias, why don't you and your team join RA for its BFME2 Mod? Instead of working on this Mod by yourselves. Think about it, it would be a win-win situation and would benefit both, and would definitely save both teams much time and man-power. Besides, both teams have the same goals in the BFME2 versions of their Mods.

I like both dwarves alot, though the scale mail you chose for the arms of Gloin doesnt seem to fit the style of dwarves. Very nice work, keep it up!

You'll learn. You are making huge progresses, it will be good for you to work with the really good guys ;)

Ok, I really think the blue cloth would look better if you made it a tad darker, and perhaps some... Dirt and scracthes? A lil darker and it's really good ^_^

Even though the future of this very young mod is uncertain due to new developments with the RA team, we kept on working.

The Dwarven archer, model by Tomat, skin by Tomat, bow, quiver, shield, green cloth around neck and texture filter by Matias.

It's great but I think that the green on his shoulders(neck) should be alittle darker

why would he fight in that tho? gimli wore ceremonial armour at aragorns coronation, so? U saw legolas in a silk gown, i doubt hed fight in that lol

The armour gloin had on was fine, besides the colour i would have maybe put a beige tunic over it with an open part at the front or a dark brown/red tunic. Blue jues seems to bright. Leave the blues to the elves i say ^_^

*sigh* No comment.

On another note, welcome Nightmare into the team as a modeller, coder and skinner!

On a RA related note, this mod will not work together with the RA team for B4ME2. Mullers, Tomat and me are however trying to join the RA team for B4ME1.
