Ok, I got bored yesterday and so I decided to skin something for the first time, as my Gimpshop didn't give up on me. Here it is, but it is not finished yet. I have concenetrated on the clothing at the minute and the face, hands and feet are yet to be completed:

The darker bits were supposed to be shadows and folds in the cloth, but they turned out looking like patterns. Any constructive criticism that I can use efficiently for future skins of mine?
NB: I do not like the unwrap of the Elven Warrior model, thus why I do not know why there is a part unskinned...

Not looking too bad. Keep up the good work!

Btw: The part you're missing at the bottom and up the middle of the skirts is at the very bottom of the Elven Warrior texture. Just extend your red cloth all the way to the bottom.

Looking very good, if you painted it all yourself then you're at a good start, you'll be like a Nertea skinner not like a me skinner who can't actually draw in photoshop ^^; I can draw on paper but not on photoshop. Keep practicing and you'll be good :D

Thanks for the heads up guys :)

Thanks, that'll help Celeglin, I'll do that tomorrow or this evening.
Any ways where I can improve it?

Add a texture filter I'd say.

Ok, i really should change the topic name, but what the hell
I did all of this hand-drawn and I can say I like it. It looks as though there is no texture on the green cloth, but there is, it just hasn't shown up, I will have to work on that bit.

Anyways, I have no use for it, and it still needs some work, but here is the main part of it:

Right, a lot of today I've spent my time on this new skin. I do not know where it can be used but if anyone wants it for their mod just ask :p

All of it is mine,hand-drawn, I did my first face and I am overwhelmed with it. I will also bind it and get him in some nice positions next. I do not know how the binding will turn out but only time will tell....

Anyways, enough of the rambling, here it is based off Legolas, and this time the cloth textures look good :p

I don't think so, but maybe the colour I chose was too bright.

I think it looks great, you just need a couple of shadows here and there.

Ahh yes Prince Imrahil, there are shadows but because it's in .jpeg form, they don't show up very well, I'll whip it up in .bmp later on so there is more detail.

Sorry for the double post. I skinned a shield today for no purpose again. It's supposed to be wood and the big silvery bit in the middle is metal if you can't tell already.
Regards to Nertea's tutorial on skinning a gondor shield, I used the wood part he wrote in that, thank you very much, if not for that it would be rubbish

Right, I recently acquired Photoshop and so my layers are working properly etc. This is my first in it, and I'm sure they will improve as always but this was a test run muessing about with the new stuff PS has to offer ;)

Well, anyways, this is a model, not a skin, next will be the skin but for now I'm working on the model. Where can I improve on this mounted Soldier Of Rhun?

I don't know how you could improve on the model without knowing what you plan to do for the skin.
