I hope to get it sometime soon.

People who have got it already:
1) There's already a patch out. They found bugs after going gold, and fixed them.
2) Replays are coming (if they aren't enabled in the patch)

Well, the short answer is the next patch. ETA, in the immediate future.

Basically replay was temporarily disabled so that we could tweak and enhance it for ease of use. There were also some bugs associated with it that needed addressed. So, we do greatly apologize for the inconvenience but I promise you it will be working and functional in the next patch. =) I know we are going to get panned, but we would rather fix it and implement it right than give you something that may or may not work.

3) How is it how is it how is it? :p

They did good getting everyone's attention beforehand, but I noticed a severe lack of launch-related news.

They've already released 2 patches though, so they've already passed EA when it comes to support. :D

I'm still contemplating whether to get it - the game has some great ideas in it, but I wasn't overly impressed by the gameplay in the demo - most notably in the ground based RTS parts. The missions seemed a bit poorly put together in that respect. I do, quite like the space based element, that seems to work quite well.
Seeing as I can't play multiplayer, due to my home network security, I'm still not sure whether I want to buy it or not.

I agree about the ground based parts, the space parts seemed superior.

No, more it means that their QA department has some issues. You shouldn't need a second patch the day after you release a patch because the first patch doesn't work properly. That to me is a sign of either bad code or a bad QA department. QA should have caught the disconnect issue and they should have held the first patch to fix it.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

But the fact they made the patch between going gold and release shows dedication

It shows that they shouldn't have gone gold with it.

I'm afraid I have to side with MM on that one; two patches in such a short period of time for some fairly big bugfixes shows that their QAT hasn't been pulling their weight, or that the code was so damned buggy in the first place, a few slipped through to meet a deadline that shouldn't have been met.

Probably QAT. We're lazy like that.

It shows dedication to fixing their mistakes that shouldn't have been made in the first place tbh.

If this were an EA game, not only would we have had more than just a connectivity bug, but we also would have to wait till somewhere in march to get it.
