I've just began modding for BFME, and I've got gmax and Photoshop to help me do so. For my first little mod, I plan to create a Goblin faction, called Gundabad. I plan to make them the same as Mordor, except change Orc Warriors to the Goblin Swordsmen found at the Goblin lairs, and change the Orc Bowmen to the Goblin Bowmen found at the Goblin Lairs. I also want to change Mordors Mountain Trolls to the Cave Trolls found at the Lairs. I've downloaded some 'ini' file or something like that, but when I changed Soldiers health just to test it, it didn't have any effect. Could someone help me please, as I'd really like to create this mini-mod as fast as possible to get started with BFME modding.

First of all you need to make sure your .ini file is saved in yourgamedirectory\data\ini
and wherever it's supposed to go from there. What is the name of the .ini file?

Really you should start from the basics

1. Download FinalBIG (see Tools section)
2. Extract ALL of the .ini files (not just one)
3. Remove your INI.big file from your root BFME directory (just put it someplace else for now)
4. Amend your BFME shortcut so that the command line is: "C:\whereveryouputbfme\lotrbfme.exe" -preferLocalFiles

That -preferLocalFiles means your extracted .ini files get used.

So, try that and then amend your health etc. as you want and if it doesnt work let us know the .ini file name and people will be able to take a look :D
