1. Delete the lotr.csf file you have already extracted from english.big (or if you replaced english.big with this file by renaming it, and didn't backup english.big then you can TRY downloading english.big LINK REMOVED but no promises it will work :(
2. Open up _englishpatch102.big with FinalBIG
3. Extract lotr.csf to: yourbfmedirectory\lang\english\
4. Edit lotr.csf using the CSF Editor available from the Tools section of T3A.
Best of luck. You may need to reinstall and start over. Always use the lotr.csf from the .big file of whatever patch you're on.

I re-installed and patched the game, and I've added the strings to the lotr.csf file.
What strings have you added?
I think one of the other problems might have been how many builldings I gave to the new faction. I just added a building foundation and a camp, but in the guide (although that was editing Gondor, whereas my faction is based on Mordor), Keeps and Farms were also added to the list for the new faction.
That's because farms are pretty fundamental for good factions...and the guide was about adding a new good faction to the game.
But Mordor doesn't get a keep, and I don't understand why only Keeps were added and not other buildings. The guide isn't very clear at some times. Anyway, could someone help me please!!!
If you are basing your faction on Mordor then you need to use Mordor objects: e.g. furnaces or slaughter houses.
It depends how particular you want to be: you can simply add commands to your factionnameFoundationCommandSet in commandset.ini such as:
1 = Command_ConstructFurnace
Or you can be thorough:
1. Duplicate the furnace or slaughter house or lumbermill object(s) from civilianbuildings.ini copying to evilfactionbuildings.ini;
2. Give each object a new name (eg. MyfactionnameFurnace);
3. Give each object a new side (eg. from Civilian to Myfactionname);
4. Make sure you use that object's name in your commandset.ini;
5. Make sure you duplicate the object's entry in commandbutton.ini renaming it appropriately to the new name of your object;
4. And if you're feeling particularly thorough you might want to add new object description and tooltip strings to lotr.csf
I started out just finding out what buildings I wanted my faction to build and adding them to my foundationcommandset to begin with. When I got sick of seeing 'Rohan' this or 'Gondor' that for my Elves faction I started duplicating objects and adding new tooltips where appropriate to my lotr.csf
I'm new and only getting to grips with this so others may have more/better ideas.
