Office 12 Beta uses twice as much memory as Office 2003, so Open Office might be a viable choice for people now. Overall I'm impressed with the Office 12 UI, but it gets annoying when you're running one background program and you lose ten slides from your powerpoint presentation because autosave doesn't like to work and PowerPoint is prone to lockups. I've used Open Office too, but I could never get used to the new icons and a different UI (I used a highly customized 2003 UI), and overall found it very underwhelming (Although good if you don't want to part with $200). Also, Corel WordPerfect is terrible, it saves things in any type of format, but it default saves them as WPDs which can only be opened by WordPerfect. Definitely not good if you're in a rush and you need to print an essay at school and you forget about saving it as a .doc. That happened to me, twice.

Actually, somebody did mention Open Office somewhere further up...

Tbh, I don't know what it is, except what I can infer from the name.

I only use openoffice if I want to convert my .doc to .pdf
And for firefox, it's a lot safer then ie, so don't say it sucks, and I really like tabbed browsing.

OO.o (Open Office.org) 2 is a great Office program, the only real problem it has is that it doesnt onvert .doc files right (atleast not with lay-out) For the rest its better than the Office on my PC.

FF is godlike, especially the tabbed browsing functions.

As for Google talk, I only have it installed cause it works better than Gmail Notifier.

Open Office sucks. ^_^

Maybe Prime is just too poor or thick to think how to get it.

No, I have a copy of Office 2003, I just prefer Openoffice for its speed. And hey, it has everything Office 2003 has.

If you've ever used OoO2, you'll see why I like it. You've prolly only used 1.x, which sucked ass compared to 2.0.

And I can't help myself but I have to ask. Why do people that say it sucks, never give a good reason?
