Oh yea, lol, those Chinese guys who went for days days without moving from their seats and so died of whatever they died of...sorry, but they didn't die from playing WoW...they died from stupidity. That's a Darwin, if you ask me.mind you 3+ people have died from playing WoW.constantly
God knows how the guy would've coped in the real world, if his reason for suicide is having school problems. Jesus, the guy even said there were some good things he enjoyed.and its shame to see a life taken at a young age
I'm with Holly on this one, and I know I'm gonna get jip for it.

This is just plain weird, i mean i dont want to seem cold hearted but runescape? There is plenty worse. Unless he had dial-up.
I heard of a Korean that played Starcraft for 48 hours straight, had a heart attack then died later, after he walked home.

I'll bet something will happen when they throw out runescape.I know a former suicidal who now plays runescape. Hasn't tried anything stupid since she started playing
But i must say runespace is (i still think) the most addicting game in young lives.
Stop it before u WAN'T to get stuff cuz u'll do anything for it.
As i reached that i quitted. I still have many friends who play this to.
And as my mom's a teacher on a lower school (ages 3 to 13), she teaches brats from 11 to 13,
I once heard that all, yes ALL the kids of hers class played runescape.
And even other classes to =..='
I just mean where is the world going to? it's a ugly, laggy, online, idiotic, no sence game.
And now that guy to i mean yeah i had heavy probs on my school and even my so called best friend betrayed me more than once cuz i was so good-believing.
But im still here, it's not that i don't care about him (i care about every lifeform, some more than others, ahh well) but suicide IS overreacting.
Ok i think i said enough i dont wanna make enemies

Heh.
I take it he wasn't really coping with the real world, hence the computer game ruling his life.
I know the feeling of losing yourself through gaming. I've been through that myself in my younger years. I hid behind the TV/PS/N64 back when I got bullied and my parents were divorced..
Hmm. To even have thát "world" or place-to-escape-reality collapse could definately spark of something in a person who needs it.
I can to some extend relate to this.
If my computer would somehow explode tomorrow a part of me would be dead for a while, but atleast I got friends outside I can stick around with.
Ehm. If this is vague then I can clarify it for you..

People forget the most important rule of thumb..."care not one iota." I admit, it's only recently I've learned such rule...

Having destroyed your computer, would you then kill yourself? If my computer was destroyed i would commit suicide. But if i lost at runescape i would just destroy the computer.

I think it would be a more psychotic "murder self" thing.Having destroyed your computer, would you then kill yourself?

The mistake we are making is blaming runescape for his suicide. He didnt kill himself because of runescape, he killed himself because it was the last bit he could handle.
If you where bullied, and your school results where bad and your parents hated you, I think you'd consider killing yourself at some point as well, because that creates big depression.
Runescape was the kids life (and thats sad allready, he couldnt even afford WoW). His best " friend" stole his account, so he stole an important part of the kids life. From the kids point of view he had lost everything. Gaming is not to blame in this case, its bad school/parents and friends. I think we should realise that.
On a fun fact, our local news paper said: " games are getting more and more realistic".. this was runescape for crying out loud
