This is a very rough draft of our Harad faction, which will most likely not be in the first release. It has some Rhûnish influences, and like Gondor, will have a special building which allows the player to build 2 additional heroes and a special kind of unit.

Heroes

Suladan the Serpent Lord
Khamûl the 2nd Nazgûl

Basic Outlay

Harad doesn't have much heroes. To make up for that they have several Elite units, based off ideas by Games Workshop. We haven't fully decided on the unit list as of yet, but I can confirm that Hasharin and Merchant Guards and Watchers of Karnâ are in.

Like the Gondor Ranger Gathering building, we have something similar for Harad in mind. (well for the Elves also but that's just a couple of vague ideas)

There would be a Cultist Shrine available, which allows the construction of Black Magic Cultists and the Blue Wizards. ( I am aware that the Blue Wizards went into the East and weren't evil per se, but they were likely to start Magic Cults. Well basically I just really want them in :p )

Any ideas for Harad units and buildings are appreciated.

Heres what I put together: Construcive criticism is greatly appreciated.

Hasharin
Pikemen
Merchant Guard of Abrakan
Wardens of Umbar
Haradrim
Haradrim Archers
Raiders
Raider Archers
The Watchers of Karna

As you can see there is a lot of influence from other cultures here. All of these units have been portrayed bu Games Workshop and we will be working roughly to these concepts they've made up

For the record, if the Blue Wizards end up evil, I'll just mod them right back out for myself ;) . I've always hated that idea.

Well I really want to have Romestamo and Morinehtar in, maybe as summon. That way they are just summoned and not neccesarily evil or good. Just neutral summons.

Also we thought of a Khandish Warlord type of hero, and came up with a guy called Authâra, Auth meaning War and Ara meaning Lord. Any thoughts?

Heres my idea, although it's not just for Harad, it's for an Evil Men faction.

---Evil Men---

Units:

Angmarim of Carn Dum (medium, sword, self healing, served the witch king of Angmar)
Dunelendings (axemen, light, barbarian)
Men of the White Mountains (medium infantry, sword/bow, related to Dunelendings)
Rhunic Axmen (heavy, axe, Rhun)
Balchoth (stealth, shocktroops,Rhun)
Wainriders (charioteers, Rhun)
Soldiers of Rhun (same, Rhun)
Easterling Knights (heavy Cavalry, Rhun)
Haradrim Archers (same, Harad)
Haradrim Raiders (light cavalry of the Haradrim)
Serpent Knights (heavy cavalry of the Haradrim)
Mumakil (same, Harad)
Muhad (no attack, mounts Mumakil for bonuses, Harad)
Variags of Khand (treat them a bit like Oriental warriors, but more tribal, Khand)
Khandic Cavalry (make them sort of like, Mongolan horsemen types, Khand)
Troll-men of Southern Harad (Heavy infantry, very tall, Harad)
Battering Ram (equivalent to orc ram)
Siege Bow (smaller, cheaper, ballista)

Buildings:

Haradrim Palace---
Haradrim, Haradrim Cavalry, Serpent Knights
Mumakil Pen---
Mumak
Mustering Grounds---
Variags, Khandis Cavalry
Easterling Barracks---
Soldier of Rhun, Rhunic Axmen, Balchoth
Easterling Stables---
Wainriders, Easterling Horsemen
Southern Tents---
Muhad, Troll-Men of Southern Harad
Tribal Longhouse---
Dunelendings, Men of the White Mts, Angmarim
Siege Workshop---
Battering Ram, Siege Bow
Lumber Camp---
Tribal Forge---
Meat Hut---
Battle Tower---

Heroes:

Wulf (light stealth melee hero, Dunland)
Suladan of Harad (Heavy melee hero, can mount armoured horse, Harad)
Khamul of Rhun (Nazgul, can mount horse, same model except with a golden crown and gauntlets, Rhun)
Khun (Medium bow hero, permanently on horse, summonable by power only, Khand)

Powers:

A few powers may include:
Horn of Harad (like War Cry_
Sandstorm (like Enshrouding Mist)
Mercenaries from Khand (Summons 1 regiment of Variags, 2 regiments of Khandish cavalry and Khun)
Untamed Alliegance (Same)
Tainted Land (Same but selected land becomes a harsh desert instead of infertile Mordor land)

(btw it's Gothmog)

Well it is an Harad faction, although I like Khun and the Mercenaries from Khand summon and the Sandstorm one. We will not include Dunlendings in this faction though. Quite a coincidence, we thought of Serpent Knights as well.

Wow kl, will the variags toggle their weapons from sword/bow? I only put the bow in the concept as Mongolian warriors had their bows and quivers placed next to their knees for easy access, and I tried to make he Variag look as much like a nomadic mongolian as I could

Many people envision Khand to be Mongolian. I agree to that vision to a certain extent. I like these concepts.

my idea is

corsair knife fighters or swordsmen
rhun pikemen
harad archers
harad lancers
soldiers of rhun
dunland riders
harad mounted archers
harad mounted spearmen
khandic cavarly
variags of khand
mumakil

well those are main ideas
we could have them like this(too many)
units

corsair swordsman
rhun pikeman(shield added on their back)
Harad archers
variags of khand
dunland riders
harad mounted archer
khandic cavarly
mumakil

heroes

Wulf
Suladan of Harad
Khamul of Rhun
Khun

we can take men from the upper lists but also we can remove guys from the down list. its just my idea

This is a Harad faction, an addition to the new list, Taken out all dunland units because Matias said "We will not include Dunlendings in this faction though":

Units:

Haradrim swordsmen - light, cheap, shock-troopers. Harad's main infantry
Haradrim archers - light, cheap, shock-troopers. Harad's main archers
Easterling warriors - medium, moderately cheap, pikemen.
Rhunic axemen - heavy, moderately expensive, two-handed axe.
Balchoth - special, cheap, stealthy, weak assassin ability.
Haradrim Raiders - light, very fast shock-troopers.
Variags of Khand - medium, mount horse.
Wainriders - elite, heavily armoured, toggle lance/bow.
Corsairs of Umbar - heavy, toggle fire bomb/knives, can climb walls.
Men of Far Harad - elite, equal to half-troll marauders.
Battering Ram - cheap, equal to mordor ram.
Seige Bow - medium, smaller ballista.
Mumakil - special, same.
Serpent Knights - special, summonable by power only, very powerful cavalry.

Buildings:

Haradrim Palace---
Haradrim swordsmen, Haradrim archers, Corsairs of Umbar, Men of Far Harad
Mumakil Pen---
Mumakil
Mustering Grounds---
Haradrim Raiders, Variags of Khand, Wainriders
Easterling Barracks---
Easterling warriors, Rhunic Axmen, Balchoth
Siege Workshop---
Battering Ram, Siege Bow
Lumber Camp--- Same as lumbering mill
Desert Forge--- Researches upgrades
Hunting ground--- Produces resouces
Battle Tower--- Defensive tower
Healers Tent--- Heals nearby allies

Heroes:

Suladan of Harad - Heavy melee hero, can mount armoured horse.
Khamul of Rhun - Nazgul, can mount horse, same model except with a golden crown and gauntlets.
Khun - Medium bow hero, permanently on horse, summonable by power only.

Powers:

A few powers may include:
Horn of Harad (like War Cry)
Sandstorm (like Enshrouding Mist)
Mercenaries from Khand (Summons 2 regiment of Variags and Khun)
Untamed Alliegance (Same)
Tainted Land (Same but selected land becomes a harsh desert instead of infertile Mordor land)
Ride of the Haradrim (Summons 3 Serpent Knight regiments and 2 mumakil to the battlefield)
Weather of the South (Summons a sand-filled whirlwind)

O can you guys please make Rhun the elite Harad units and let them have wainriders? I love wainriders and they really should be included instead of having 2 infantry types (pikes and swords? whats the point if everyone else have swords?)

Well, since I'm taking a bigger part in the Harad faction. Unless things have changed, we are going to try and keep out Rhun units for the moment.

And Khamul_of_rhun, there won't be wainriders, but there will be some sort of Khandish Chariot.
