Although I hope they have semi-realistic stats (one-hit tank/infantry kills spoils a good gameplay IMO)

I use the actual stats of each unit & weapon to do the code so they are as realistic as RA2 will allow. It’s one of the reasons why the beta is taking so long, it’s very hard to find all the info I need to do the ini code.

I have of course tweaked things so it takes about two hits from the same class of unit to be destroyed (i.e. two Med tanks, Heavy Vs Med will take it out in one tho). There are of course exceptions to this, like a Panther will pwn a Chi-He but then for 1 Panther you can build 2 Chi-He’s etc...

won't the brits have 3 tanks that work the same then ? the archer and the firfly both use a 17 pdr and the comet has a 77mm (a shortened 17pdr), they'd do the same amount of damage wouldn't they?

I imagine the difference lies in the price and armor then? or the archer uses APDS to make it even deadlier or something...whatever ;)

on the slight topic of build limits, will things like the P-1000 be like hero units ( 1 buildable ? )

Yeah.. Look! This is just like lego, collecting all parts of the tank from such small crate. Oh, please. Does D-Day go for realism?

tis just a game ;)

besides it was never actually built was it...so technicly the fact of just having it isn't realistic either.

Yes the three main British tanks do use the same weapon, I’ve coded them with different ammunition types tho. There is quite a difference between the Firefly with standard AP shells & the Archer with APDS (in fact the Archer has pretty much the best weapon in the game, shame it’s amour is paper thin tho :umad: ), there is of course differences in price, health, speed, etc too.

The P-1000 (along with other such units) is there to add a bit of fun & randomness to the game...

yeah, it's good stuff. I think if I see one of those coming for me I'd just spam scout units and send them to attack it

1x P1000 vs 20 Ba 64s...who would win I wonder :umad:

One (very carefully) micro-managed Ba-64 could take it out in an hour...
