link to the tool
tell Gremlin he can have my babies.
WOOO that works
EDIT : tutorial
this aims at presenting the necessary steps to get a video ingame. Note that the problem of getting videos WITH sound hasn't been solved yet.
- first, download VirtualDub and the VP6Codec
- secondly, open your video in VirtualDub, and in Video->Compression select the VP6 format
you'll notice several VP6. VP60 is used for regular videos, and VP61 for palantir ones. - thirdly, create a new video by using File -> Save As AVI.
- now, open the EaVP6 converter created by Siberian Gremlin, and convert your video
Gremlin notes that you need to get the Sound eXchange software in order to copy files with audio. I haven't tested that myself so I can be of any help there

just wondering, can that tool convert EA vp6 files to normal vp6 files?
unless there is a hidden function in the EaVP6 program, no.
Hehe, there is one of these too, yet even harder to find. There is a commandline program that u can use to convert the eaVP6 files to AVI files.
I was able to find this before, becaue it was made before, but it took a lot of searching. I ended up finding it on a Russian site, lol
http://sg.redsys.ru/.../eatools01c.rar
thats what you need. here;s instructions, cause its pretty complicated, thank fully ive been working w/ commandprompt and commands recently, so i knew how to get it working, i ended up making a batch file that converted all the bfme1 videos at once
1. Open the RAR file
2. Make a new folder called "videos" (no quotations) at the root level of any drive, in this tutorial ill use the C:\ drive, so if you're using a differnet drive, just subsitute that letter for anytime we'd use C:\, this includes in the codes
3. extract "eaconv.exe" from the RAR file to the C:\videos folder
4. copy the video file that you want, ill use "EALogo.vp6" in this tutorial, to the C:\videos folder, so you'd just subsitute the name of your video for ealogo.vp6 any time it is (dont forget the .vp6 part)
5. Run command prompt by going to START, and then RUN and in the box type "cmd" (no quotations)
6. now type, with no quotations, and every new line you press enter, so like after cd C:\videos there is a line break, so you would press enter in Command Prompt. So enter into it:
cd\ C:\videos
eaconv EALogo.vp6
7. Now go to C:\videos and in it it should have eaconv.exe, EALogo.vp6, and EALogo.avi, if you have the vp6 codec from On2 installed, you can open up the .avi file in Windows Media Player.
8. Tada, you now have your AVI file!
Please comment w/ any questions or comments

by the way, the link is broken. it should be:
http://sg.redsys.ru/.../eatools01c.rar
edit: the sound of these movies can be found in bfme2\lang\EnglishAudio.big. they are mp3 files with the same filename as the movies. you need to combine the sound and the video with a special program, like VirtualDub
edit2: Full guide to convert bfme movies to avi
1. Convert the EA movie to a normal vp6 avi (see instructions above)
2. Find the correct audio file (in EnglishAudio.big)
3. Convert it to normal wav
4. Open the avi video with virtualdub
5. select Audio->Wav audio. now select the audio file you created in step 3
6. Assuming you know how virtualdub works, do with it what you want
I have succesfully converted the good dol guldur outro movie to a normal avi

did you use VP60 instead of VP61 ?
yes, i used vp60 cause the vp6 converter gave me an error ("VP61 profile not supported yet! VP60 only!")
how can you make videos with alpha? what kind of video editing program supports that?
i'm using magix video deluxe 2006 plus... that supports alpha, too.. but i don't know if thats the right way^^
